Very pleasant first-time visit to UNC specialty care (Sanford). The reception and doctoral staff went above, and beyond to make sure that our concerns were addressed with informative answers & we left our visit feeling assured in our medical decisions. The environment was well taken care of and I would be likely to recommend this location to family and friends!

My one, and only complaint, (which was possibly out of their control) was the time in which we needed to wait to be seen for an appointment. In specialty care, this is often the case if the concern is not life-threatening, but we did have to wait 2 1/2 months for an appointment slot. So — if you need is time-sensitive, I’d recommend to speak with their scheduling team as soon as possible!

I tried calling the staff to schedule an appointment that is urgent for my son, was told to send up documents in which I did. Afterwards I never received feedback to know if they received them nor received a call back. I called multiple times and even left a message but nothing. I ended up changing facilities.

I have been trying for weeks to make an appointment and still no luck. The referral coordinator never returns phone calls and never answers her phone. It’s beyond ridiculous. They need a better system or a new referral coordinator.
