Today was my first visit to APDerm at the Ayer location. I met with Dawn Baird, PA-C, and Amber, Medical Assistant. The office was clean and the Receptionist (Mandy?) was very welcoming and made check in as a new patient very easy and fast. Dawn listened with empathy as I described the struggle with cystic acne in my 20’s, and now rosacea in my 60’s. What truly touched me was the way that Dawn and Amber acknowledged the psychological impact that those conditions create. I am looking forward to working with this Team and feel very supported.

Dawn Baird is one of the best practitioners I have ever had during my yearly skin check. Her care, compassion and thoroughness in assessing my skin was the best I have ever had. I have been going to the dermatologist for decades and I have never had someone take the time and really review my skin like her. Dawn is one in a million and I so appreciate her, and she needs to be recognized. THANK YOU, DAWN!

I have recommended this Dermatology practice to so many people.
Between my daughter and I, we have been to 3 of the locations, and they are all excellent. If I have an urgent issue, Lena at scheduling has been phenomenal. She actually calls back when there is a cancellation.
Without an urgent matter, it's usually a 2 to 3 week wait, depending on location.
Dr. Dawn Baird is who my daughter and now I, typically see. She is extremely thorough and you will not feel rushed. I do not know how she does it but the 2 novicain couple injections she administered (in a very sensitive area) did not hurt at all. I truly did not even feel a pinch.
I forget her assistant's name, but the two of them work great as a team.
Dr. Baird is not your typical dermatologist. She takes pictures of everything and dictates extremely thorough notes. I had no what she was talking about... and I have some medical knowledge. Before I had the chance to ask, she explained everything in Laymans terms.
I saw her for a very awkward procedure, that she turned simple and easy ... as if it was nothing.
And let me tell you, it definitely was something. A little advice... Don't bother with compound W - all it did was make a mess.
Great patient bedside manner and a very soft, gentle touch.
If you or anyone you care about has H.S. (hydradenitis Suppurativa), A.P. Derm is the place to go. I took my daughter to so many doctors over the years and so many of them did not know what it was and referred her elsewhere or misdiagnosed her (local pedi gyno, children's hospital Derm & gyno etc). My local (at the time) dermatologist in Burlington, Ma is who correctly diagnosed her at age 12. For the past four years, we have been commuting to Beth Israel in Boston. We have our favorite doctors there, but when she had an emergency, she gets who she gets. As a young girl, seeing a man for a skin condition in personal areas was a bit traumatic. "Getting who you get" is also the same thing at AP Derm. The difference is, (atleast so far), all the doctors are not only knowledgeable but they listen, give you time and are gentle.
Dr. Baird has been not just gentle and kind but has given us helpful info and listens to my daughter, not just me.

Dawn Baird, PA-C at AP Derm is excellent! She's knowledgeable and personable and gentle in her approach. I've had several small growths and warts removed. They don't all disappear on the first round, but Dawn is diligent in making sure we follow up until they are gone! I've been very happy with AP Derm and Dawn.
