My wife and I travel to ministries like this one to preach the gospel and share our own experience of coming out of addiction. Every time we visit the San Antonio Teen Challenge we can feel the power and presence of God! God is definitely doing a great work here. I am able to speak from experience too, because I, myself have been through a Teen Challenge program. I recommend this place to anyone who is struggling with a life controlling issue and is looking for freedom!

This place saved my life, it provided a safe protected environment where I got to meet Jesus and gain a relationship with god, I’ve learned how to be independent but dependent of the lord. To love , trust, and care for myself but most importantly others. It gave me a chance when everything else was against me. I have found some of my best friends here , but most of all I have found JESUS!! I found freedom from addiction but most of all I found my purpose and a new way of living! I have an awesome life ! Thank you Jesus for adult and teen challenge!❤️🙏

These people don't practice what they preach. The bad reviews are very clear that what they say their mission is, doesn't get implemented. If anything people get taken advantage of. I don't think I could go here to get help if needed or send my kids here if they were to be so far lost that we couldn't help them. I have family and friends of the lgtbq+ community also and to know they condem that and have the nerve to tell people they cannot be who they are and will turn them away or try to "revert them" is disgusting. I hope the world wakes up or reads a little harder and realize Christianity is not what these people are preaching. God must be very dissapointed in these people.

I never understood this program. I was sent here because I was at another program called Grace House and then referred by the director to attend teen challenge. While attending adult and teen challenge my mental health depleted tremendously. You have no contact with the outside world. Barely any contact with family. And you work to build "work ethic" while making money for the program. They make money off of each and every student but somehow never invest in their student's you go to outreaches to make money, you get dropped off at random locations to make money for them and your told it's to pay off your tuition. Living conditions are not very adequate. I get their trying to get people to learn basic living skills but there's a lot of brain washing that goes on here it's so secretive. When we went out to work crews we were not allowed to talk, we couldn't even make eye contact with boys, we were told how to dress, what to read, how to walk, how to be, I felt like a robot being here. I never dealt with addiction but I witnessed people who were treated like outsiders because they didn't suit their religious beliefs people who really needed help. As a Christian were supposed to love it's not our place to judge. I still have so many questions about this program. I had so many self doubts about my future at this program. One thing that really makes me uncomfortable is how much they profit on each resident they worked us like dogs but yet they made us feel as if we were never doing enough. When I left I had a mental breakdown I was struggling with balancing out the academic program, working for them, and the sleep schedule. I had no time to focus on treatment they made me feel as if I needed TEEN CHALLENGE in order to maintain a balanced life they put more focus on the program than giving credit to the Lord it's almost like a crutch making people think they need them. People who are vulnerable. Most people go on to work for the program somehow staff always had new cars and the nicest clothes and shoes while they told students to be minimal. I've always taken care of myself physically and I was told by a staff member that I was dressing up for the boys and don't draw too much attention to myself there was no one to impress we never went out we were isolated completely so to be told that was kind of out of pocket when I left voluntarily they dropped me off at a shelter instead of taking me to my family. I had no money nothing this place needs to be under investigation since leaving I've been able to maintain a healthy balanced life but I lost out on so much time being here.

My experience is as a parent of a graduate and I can't say enough about how supportive Adult and Teen Challenge was in restoring our entire family. We spent this Thanksgiving week together for the first time in over a decade. There was no drama... only love and connection. It was beautiful. God works in each individual in His own time. He has healed our hearts in so many ways and I am so grateful to Adult and Teen Challenge. I never gave up on my daughter and God never gave up on our family. It's not an easy program for the women, but it provides what the women need...physically, emotionally and spiritually. We're looking forward to many holidays together again and we know that, no matter what the future holds, Adult and Teen Challenge is there for support.

Not only could I not afford a traditional, secular rehabilitation facility but the ones I tried in the past never worked for me! Throughout my stay at Adult and Teen Challenge of Texas I was supported in my recovery process as well as provided with the tools and resources I needed to help me transition back into good standing with the State. I grew in knowledge and relationship with the Lord while letting go of what I had held on to for so long. I was surrounded by structure and loving guidance which allowed me to find my way back on to my path of purpose. This program facilitated and funded my education, allowing me the opportunity to pursue my credentials in ministry. I am now able to use my past experiences to help others find help, hope and healing through their relationship with Jesus! I am forever grateful!

I just left this evil "program"
They use God to enslave people and treat us like trash, they use the Bible to mentally trap people there and they told me that they were Gods mouths and that I was going against Gods will by leaving and even went as far as telling me I'd die if I left God's will. They promised things over the phone and manipulated me to come there then manipulated my mother by telling her their lies. I had to literally beg to get a ride to the bus station. They were trying to get me angry so they can have the excuse to just kick me to the curb.. I saw over 20 guys leave in the 30 days I was there.
The staff is aggressive and selfish.
They use our food stamps to buy themselves energy drinks, expensive coffee, good food and little cakes and snacks while we only get the food from the donation centers. We don't get cleaning supply's, soap or anything needed to have a clean facility.
It is very sad to see places like this exist.
These men are thieves. They forced me to work when I was extremely sick and didn't let me get any rest when I first got there as I was detoxing..
DO NOT send your loved ones here. The director himself is deceiving and speaks as he is God.
