I gave birth at this hospital because my OBGYN is in the building next to it and delivers at Sierra.I came into the hospital having pain in my chest while I was a week from giving birth and waited in the waiting room for an hour. I did like my actual doctor but did not like the midwife who was on shift for my birth. She did not listen to my requests during labor. I ended up having an emergency c section as did the other women who were there that night (that’s a pretty odd coincidence in my opinion.) I stayed for 5 days after my c section. The first nurse we had was giving me pain medication that apparently the other nurses did not agree with. I simply told the next nurse what the previous one gave me and she told me they don’t do that. This caused me to get frustrated with the new nurse because I just had major surgery and was trying to take care of my baby, not figure out medication. Other than that the nurses were nice and helpful during my recovery.
I did have to come back to Sierra as my baby had a fever. When the er doctor saw my baby he saw that there was blood on her ear drum and accused me of sticking a trip into her ear canal for some odd reason. Then he asked me if she had vaccinations and then went on to ask me what month they are given to an infant because apparently he was unaware. He pressure me into doing a flu swab on my baby because he felt like it was so important even when I asked to do a bladder infection check first, he stated I should do them at the same time or I’d be waiting around double the amount of time so I reluctantly agreed. The bladder infection check came back clear and he then said she just had an ear infection. Gave me some prescriptions and said we could leave before the flu results came back because it wouldn’t change the result of what he was giving me. So why was he pressuring me so much to do the swab if I left without any results Then my fiance asked what temp fever we should bring her in at and he stated 106.00. That is appalling to me. Not to mention when my fiance went to pick up the prescription from the pharmacy the pharmacist asked who this was because he wrote one of the prescriptions wrong. He wrote it for an adult, not an infant. It’s as if this “doctor” had no experience at all. I will not be going back to this hospital, it’s a joke.

Your staff at Sierra Vista Hospital is next to none. I’ve been injured a lot and have to deal with a lot of medical facilities. In this. By far is the best. The only is the staff the best that I’ve ever experienced. The hospital itself is the best. They’re super nice. they attended everything you need. Their attitude is nothing but happy and cheerful. This is definitely the best care facility you could possibly go to on a Central Coast hands-down. There’s no contest and trust me. I am so picky about this kind of stuff.

Alittle confusing trying to find an entrance that was opened on the weekend. Security check through emergency room was crazy just to visit someone. Felt like I was going through airport security check. Couldn't take my lighter in, got my ID scanned, got a visitor pass with my information and photo printed and stuck to my shirt. The only thing missing was the walk through Xray machine scanner and a pat down. I'm still tripping out on how much information is collected and kept to profile us on systems. The hallways were confusing the way they curved around and the lack on Signage telling you where your going. I think I had to ask directions three times before I finally found the room. Staff were nice and helpful though. They were kind to my husband who was the patient.

First of all, we decided to go to this hospital because last time we went, my boyfriend was treated so well by the doctor, I don’t remember his name but he spoke to my boyfriend like a human and was very kind and made our visit feel comfortable. This time around we got Dr. Kyle Kelson. Right off the bat he came off as rude and spoke to my boyfriend in a condescending matter. Yes you are a doctor but please treat people with kindness and respect!!! He also came off as very confrontational and unprofessional when he couldn’t understand what my boyfriend was saying. He made our visit super uncomfortable and I would recommend he take some classes in order to treat patients like he actually cares about them…. The nurses were wonderful but also please train your nurses better, this is the second time they struggle to find a vein and cause further pain than comfort. The first time a nurse blows his vein, which only causes more pain for my boyfriend. Also when my boyfriend asked for alternatives the doctor said “I don’t know”…

Unbelievable lack of care or communication. Currently sitting in the ER waiting room - roughly three hours while my 90 year old mother sits waiting to be admitted. Its a great example of the health care system we tolerate.

My mom had surgery and is currently staying here while she recovers. The place is unsanitary, and the treatment practices are questionable. I think just a simple washing your hands would be nice before doing any procedure on a patient. Nurses(some) seemed annoyed when my mom needed something and when she had questions. It pains me knowing my mom has to be there.

Having heard employee testimony, I realize that Adventist health does not represent their “Christian Morals”. They put nurses in situations they are not prepared for that endanger the nurses and therefore the patients. They will slander and allow their nurses no protections. This organization is NOT the kind of place you want to work for and their management teams are the OPPOSITE of any organization I would want to be a part of. I am not a nurse myself but from testimony of others I would never chose an Adventist organization. Definitely not a supportive environment.

I would give no stars if I could. It's not easy for me to accept the fact that I need to go to the ER, so when I came in to Sierra Vista, not only did they not help me, they literally painfully push the infection I have from an abscess back into my body making it worse. They also had told me that I had a serious illness that I in fact did not have or it said anywhere on my paperwork.... Would not recommend to my greatest enemy.. these people torture people. Where do they get their nurses certificate Will never ever return here.
