I came in with a deep laceration of my finger. They took me right back before I did the paperwork to be sure they can handle it versus having to send me to the ER which I thought was very thoughtful and efficient. They decided they can handle it the physician assistant was sharp and had great bedside manner. I was in and out quickly and I thought they were fantastic!

Absolutely fantastic. I rarely write reviews unless service is so exceptional or horrible. This was my first time at AFC Valencia urgent care. I previously went to an urgent care that my primary was at but with a loss of my job and changing insurance I needed to find somewhere else to go. I was lucky to find AFC Valencia as not only are they urgent care and accept walk-ins, but you can also make an appointment, Which is super convenient. when I got there I arrived about 20 minutes early because I was just down the street And they took me back within 5 min! There were three other people waiting, but I had made an appointment. The girl who took me back to take my vitals and gather some information was Extremely nice and very personable - her name was Vicki. šŸ™‚ shoutout cause she was really great! Then I went to the exam room. I was there for about 10-15 minutes and The physician came in to see me. He had already heard what the nurse gathered from me but wanted more Detail from me. He was very thorough and helpful- I was given some prescriptions etc with clear instructions. I truly appreciate all the staff! They got me in and out in less than an hour but I was not rushed at all. Thank you AFC! šŸ™‚

Brought my son in with a cough and fever. Was told there were 2 people ahead of me. Waited over an hour in the waiting room and then another hour in the treatment room to be seen by the doctor (PA). PA listened to his chest and did an exam and sent him for a chest xray and called in meds to pharmacy. Interaction with PA lasted 7-10 min max. Spent 2.5 hours at the facility. Was told later that there was only ONE provider treating patients. I wish I would’ve been told that right away! I wouldn’t have wasted 2.5 hours waiting with a sick child. Facility is clean and staff are helpful and professional but I’ve never had to wait that long to be seen and I’ve been to many urgent cares! The fact that there is no MD on staff here is also a bit concerning. I didn’t know that a PA could be the only ā€œdoctorā€ at an urgent care. I will say that the PA was very thoughtful and knowledgeable and treated my son well but I was surprised not to see any MD’s on staff.

Great doctors and staff. Very cordial staff and doctors with a lot of patience. Doctor took time to check the patient (my daughter who was having fever, cold & cough) thoroughly and prescribed minimum medicines by explaining the health issue in detail. As expected in any urgent care facility, the wait was abbot long as we did not come in with a prior appointment. The waiting area could use some magazines and newspapers for the waiting folks.

My experience was decent. The doctor was nice and communicated well with me. The nurse was something else... She was wrapping my foot and said something very odd and not appropriate at all. I said I didn't know how I hurt my foot, she came back with "well sometimes when you drink alot you get hurt and don't know that you hurt yourself." I replied with "I don't drink and haven't in a very long time".

This is so unprofessional and makes me not want to come back for care.
The doctor was nice but the staff in the back... Not a fan!

The staff and provider was absolutely amazing! We were referred by Henry mayo urgent care since our insurance was no longer supported and I am very much pleased with the transfer. Our wait time on a Saturday was maybe 15 minutes. They gave our littles a light up ball that was able to keep them occupied the entire duration of our wait which was so helpful. The staff was great and we got the care we needed without going to the ER. 10/10 recommend.

I recently visited American Family Center Urgent Care for a work-related thumb injury, and my experience was a mix of exceptional kindness from one staff member and cold, transactional care from the rest.

First, I want to acknowledge Elizabeth S. at the front desk, who was a rare bright spot in this experience. She was incredibly kind, warm, and helpful, going out of her way to call my insurance company and make sure I had all the details about my coverage. As someone newly navigating my own medical care, I can’t express how much that meant to me. She treated me like a person, not just another patient to process. If the entire staff operated like her, this review would be a glowing five stars.

Unfortunately, as soon as I was called back for treatment, the level of care dropped dramatically. The rest of the staff felt distant, cold, and uninterested. When I asked if my two small children could come in with me, the nurse reacted as if it were a burden, despite the word Family being in the clinic’s name. Her response was dismissive and condescending, as if allowing my kids in the room was a favor, rather than a basic accommodation for a single parent with no other options.

Once inside, my care felt rushed and impersonal. There was no warmth, no reassurance—just a process designed to get me in and out as quickly as possible, with an emphasis on adding extra services rather than actually addressing my concerns.

I sat waiting for the physician for a long time, despite the clinic not being busy. But instead of the physician, another nurse walked in and abruptly announced that they were "going to do an X-ray." No explanation, no discussion—just an assumption that I’d go along with it. It felt like they were pushing billable procedures rather than necessary care.

I had to stop and ask if there was an extra charge for it, and the nurse looked caught off guard, saying, "Oh, um, I don’t know," before walking away. That response alone made me question the entire process. Why was an X-ray necessary? Why wasn’t cost explained up front? It felt like an automatic upsell rather than a legitimate medical decision.

When the physician finally came in, she didn’t even mention the X-ray, she was cold, detached, and clinical—there was no warmth coming off her at all. I had to start from scratch explaining my injury, and when she examined my swollen thumb, she seemed almost disgusted by my swollen thumb.

She then suggested using a needle to open up the wound and drain pus, even though I didn’t believe there was pus at all. When I hesitated, she immediately asked, "Are you afraid of needles?" as if that were my concern. I told her, "No, I’m just worried about getting a large bill." And that’s when everything changed.

As soon as I mentioned cost, her willingness to help completely stopped. She immediately backed off, rushed through the rest of the visit, and within moments said, "Well, we can just get you some antibiotics then." She was already halfway out the door before I could even ask what kind of antibiotics she was prescribing. She spent maybe five minutes with me in total during my entire hour-and-a-half visit.

The second I made it clear that I didn’t want unnecessary procedures running up my bill, it was like I was no longer worth their time. This clinic operates as a business first and a medical facility second. Their priority isn’t patient care—it’s billing.

There was no warmth, no clear communication, and no real concern for the patient experience—except for Elizabeth S., who was the only one who made me feel like more than just a number.

If you’re looking for genuine care, I’d think twice before coming here. If you do, ask questions, push for explanations, and don’t assume they have your best interest in mind.

I’m incredibly grateful for Elizabeth S., who truly embodies what patient care should look like. However, the rest of my experience made it clear that compassion is not a priority here.

I received excellent treatment. All staff were courteous and kind. The nurse and doctor who cared for me were thorough in doing the application of testing for diagnosis and treatment. I was treated with the utmost respect and kindness. I'm very grateful for all they did to help me. So thankful for their services.
