I had an appointment with Tiffany last Friday ,May 10 at 11am, l got there at 10:45am, and they told me that she called sick in the last minte at 11am. Then l asked to talk to Pedro the office manager, they told me to wait, l waited 15 min, instead to get more upset and frustrated, l decided to leave. The front desk they smile to you, but when you turned back they laugh and stab you in the back. They just dont care, but l already file a grievance and im talking to my Doctor there, which he is the clinic director, Dr. Herrmann! Now an update, last June l talked to Dr. Herrmann and he just ignored me. After that he went along with his awful and evil staff and sent to me a dismissed letter from the AHF clinic. Im not the only one that have really bad experiences in that clinic. Im about to report Dr. Herrmann to MBC . He just didn't care about my health!

The front office staff tends to be polite but it can take multiple efforts and extra work to get needed or necessary paperwork from them; other staff like the benefits and medical coordination team do not return phone calls or do their jobs. Referrals are more of a joke than anything else unless you are in an expensive HMO. Sadly, LA County is full of suboptimal HIV providers, so this would be par for the course but AHF does manage to be even worse in a few instances.

I love the doctors and nurses but the front desk are not reliable at all. I needed documents completed for my job to make accommodations and I send it to them physically, and electronically several times from April to now. I still have not heard back from them nor have they completed them for my job. I would leave voicemails to Jennifer- I would email them on several occasions and I went up there and they told me I’d have to wait two to three weeks after I have consistently ask for this to be done for months. Unfortunately I lost my job because I was unable to provide those documents to HR and I couldn’t perform the necessary duties of my job. I will never trust AHF again- I am so glad I am with Kaiser. A lot of these people are desensitized to community health and treat every patient as if they don’t have professions and/or understand protocol. My worst unprofessional experience by far. I know it’s a busy organization but 4 months to submit documents? I would have been written up for that.

Thank you to ALL staff for being very friendly, caring, and always being there when I have questions. Thank you to Jennifer, Dr. Herrmann, Diana, and LaShell (the 4 people I see frequently when I go) for taking care of my health🙏🏽. Wait times have never been long for me, even when it has been last minute, front desk and medical staff ALWAYS try their best to accomodate. THANK YOU🙏🏽

Worst clinic ever if you are sick and need an immediate appointment. You’d be better off going to a county hospital. The nurses and front office staff poorly communicate. I have been sick with flu like symptoms since Tuesday and called and scheduled an appointment for Friday. Friday gets here and a nurse informs me this is appointment for blood work only and not to see a provider. Keep in mind I’m having chills and nauseous and pretty much told me that there’s nothing she can do for me. I informed her that it’s not my fault that your office staff poorly communicated to me that this was a lab appointment. If that was the case I wouldn’t have wasted my time driving over 40 minutes for a lab appointment and I’m still sick with flu like symptoms. Needless to say I will be looking for another provider because trying to see a Dr here is damn near impossible. You should not have to wait weeks or months to see a provider when you are sick and need immediate help. It’s very frustrating to have to take off from work and wait all day for an appointment to be told you can’t do anything for me

I’ve been seeing Dr. Herman for a year and a half now. He’s a kind, compassionate, and very intelligent doctor.
He remembers me personally and always takes the time to answer my questions. I’ve seen a lot of doctors, and Dr. Herman is one of the best. He’s sincerely concerned about my health. I can always count on him to order my medications precisely on time and again, I feel personally cared for by him. I highly recommend Dr. Matthew Herman.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! In my 25 years on this planet, I have never received better medical care in my life.
During my first visit, I spent about an hour with Dr. Herrmann, discussing my medical history, current conditions, medications, etc. He made sure to take the time to answer all my questions, concerns, and left me feeling confident about my health.

The staff was friendly, welcoming, and walked me through most of the paperwork.

Dr. Herrmann is seriously unlike any medical provider I have ever had before. You can feel that he truly cares about his patients and their well-being.
