I took my 3 year old daughter to EAMC ER on December 1st and she was sent to the ER by urgent care from across the street bc the urgent care said she needed IV fluids and she needed someone with better expertise to look at her. I went to the ER and waited for my daughter to be seen. My daughter had a 104.8 fever and was throwing up. This Dr happened to be the Dr that saw her in the ER. He asked me why I brought her here and why she didn't go to urgent care and I told him I was sent here from urgent care. He didn't think she needed fluids and he let her sit there a long time and decided he'd order an Xray for her. She got the Xray done and he said she had Peribroncial and sent her home with amoxicillin. My daughter left there and we went home, which was 2 hrs away and my daughter got worse and worse and finally I took her to the dr at our home town and they said she needed to go to Children's hospital. When we got to children's she was extremely dehydrated and lethargic and I was so scared. She had ran 104 degree fever for days by this point and the amoxicillin this dr gave my baby didnt seem to be working! Come to find out my daughter had an extreme case of the flu!!! Had this Dr did his job the Day I took her to the ER he would have been able to give my baby Tamiflu and she wouldn't have gotten near as bad as she did and I wouldn't have had to watch her suffer! I am infuriated bc Children's hospital said if they'd had treated her for the flu from day 1 she'd be over it by now. Maybe the next time this dr has a child to diagnose he will care and find out what is wrong with the child instead of just handing out a dumb prescription. Be aware!
