The main entrance whacked the hell out off the muffler on my Porsche! The absolute, pathetic, incomprehensible incompetence of the decision makers at this hospital is breathtaking! To encounter a driving hazard IN the parking garage and then to realize that one phone-call could call either a paver or a sign-maker, and they leave the cliff in place that one must drive over at the main entrance and instead of fixing the cliff they post a sign about the cliff. The decision of whether to spend some money to fix the cliff or pay for a sign talking about the cliff, they actually spent money on the sign instead of fixing the cliff! These are the same incompetent people choosing how to administer your healthcare to you, which doctors to hire, and the total of your bill! Absolute stupidity! // Update. This week we avoided going into the building and took our other car. The parking lot whacked our other car with a jumble of parking barricades that are not visible from the driver’s side. Regional… CLEAN UP YOUR ACT!

I will time and time again choose Ak Regional for giving birth, no where else compares. They make you feel like home! All nurses are just fantastic, supportive, helpful. I enjoyed every bit of my C section recovery - which is far from an easy recovery. Thank you truly!

I walked into the ER to get medical care on the finger. I didn’t receive The best service it was horrible. The doctor looked at my finger, barely cleaned it up and did not even stitched it up, but as I walked in, the nurse gave signal and seeing smirks and smiles from the staff behind the desk and I have medical experience in the hospital I used the work for HCA company. We wouldn’t never treat our patients with hate. The doctor didn’t even stitch the finger up didn’t even put a bandage on the finger. He asked me to run water on my finger and didn’t even do nothing else to it. As, I passed the service in the same staff was laughing out loud behind my back as I pass. This is the kind of services that Alaska gives to patients. This is the kind of people that you hire in these hospitals to serve on your behalf for patient care. Alaska regional Hospital is the worst hospital I ever visit I will never ever ever return back there again. Services is horrible.

I was recently hospitalized because my healthcare providers were concerned that I was exhibiting symptoms consistent with a stroke or onset of a stroke. Thankfully testing ruled that possibility out. I have in the hospital 3 days. On the 3rd day, at 8:30 am I was served breakfast by a RN. As the RN positioned the portable table across the bed he set a very hot cup of coffee on the tray. As I was scooting up to the portable table, my arm hit the coffee cup and hot scalding water poured over my belly and my left side resulting in 2nd degree burns. The RN got a cold towel and placed it up against my side and walked away without administering first aid. I had to wait until 1:00 for a nurse to treat my wound but that was after she took her break. I was totally Appalled at the absence of urgency and how unprepared and equipped this hospital in handling medical emergencies. The RN who put on cold towel on my side said that was all they could do, not knowing anything about applying ointment to a burn, which was done by another nurse 4 1/2 hours later. I have yet to file a complaint as I was discharged from the hospital yesterday. That complaint is forth coming.

Check in can be lengthy, and there is always some waiting time, but when don't you have to wait at the doctor's office or for a medical procedure? Overall, I've found the employees here to be professional and focused on patient care.

Sorry I didn't remember her name but I had a very dedicated nurse. One could tell she had a patient's wellbeing in mind. When she couldn't bet people on the phone, she walked to their office and talked to them. I'd give the hospital and this nurse all 5 stars!

My daughter is 39 weeks pregnant in labor! She calls me at 1:30 in the morning and I get on my way. 10 minutes later I arrive at the hospital. My daughter was alone at the time. When the NURSE tells security that I have to wait until regular visiting hours! I called my daughter and thankfully the nurse was in the room with her and my daughter was able to correct her behavior. (Who the hell was she to decide that?) She should not be a L&D nurse!
