Horrible horrible place.
I'll keep it short and simple.
1. They do not care.
2. They want all your money and then some.
3. Do not come here expecting any type of compassion
4.The P.a s are rude, unethical, and dismissive at best.
5.DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.

If you really are in pain,

I beg you to reconsider another option.

From a patient who went there 2 times, and left crying and hopeless.

Every owner treats the patients completely different than the last. They obviously do not care and show it. They don't listen to patient needs when it comes to med changes. Many have left crying, in pain and feeling like they were just belittled and treated like a criminal for telling the truth about how bad they feel. Pain clinics are a sick joke to make money of those in the worst times. Congrats to those that they actually help.
Good luck to those they kick out and refer to a daily clinic that is not even for pain but for addicts.

I loved my doctor at Algone, but that being said, I’m done paying into what I call the Industrial Pain Clinic Complex. I have been going every six months, about, for RFA’s, epidurals and trigger point injections. I’m beginning to suspect a muscle condition or process that is rendering all these shots to be short lasting, but it’s never been addressed or suggested. I will say I wasn’t offered holistic treatment. Just shot after shot after shot. A PA prescribed a high dose of Cymbalta and my blood pressure kept getting higher and higher. Guess what? Cymbalta can cause blood pressure problems. I gave Algone a shot for over two years, thousands of dollars and here I am, super painful. I hope it gives others better results.

I wasted about a year and a half at this place trying to relieve pain, and never had any lasting improvements. This place squeezes every last dime they can out of me.

At the beginning of this relationship I was recommended for a procedure I’d be a “prime candidate” for, that’s was covered by my insurance. But in order to get approved, was told by the clinic I have to do 3 other injections before getting approved. So I did, with no relief, and when they ordered that procedure my insurance denied it. When I asked algone about it, I was told they have done it on people with my same insurance before. Later was told it was considered experimental and usually not covered by insurances. That’s lie #1.

Rewind, during all that, one of the doctors had me do one of those injections but said insurance required me to do it back to back days, one injection one day and the other the next, which was weird to him because it was easy to do it all in one appointment (his words). So I called my insurance and they said they have no documentation of saying that or requiring that. A couple months later I bring it up to the doctor and was told that it was their policy to do it in 2 separate days. I found that really strange and possibly just dishonesty trying to squeeze as much money out of me as possible. That’s lie #2.

They want to schedule appointments with me just to ask me a few simple questions. Did it work? If so for how long? Rate your pain 1-10. I did these via zoom, but guess what? That’s another copay.

So I have a handful of copays for these 10-15 minute “appointments”. What’s really annoying is that I was working with the 3rd party company or the procedure they perform, and they were fighting for my case with my insurance. Algone wanted to schedule me for another appointment just to tell me if I was denied a second time after an appeal even though the 3rd party was already in communication with me about that. Squeezing even more money from me.

After all that, I was still being pushed to inject even more steroids into my body explaining to me that they are low levels and won’t be bad for my body. I had already told them I was done doing steroid injections because they’re ineffective, and was still asked if i wanted to give it a try again because it may help in a different area in me. No!

I wish I wouldn’t have chosen this place for pain treatment as they did not help me at all, even though they had the X-rays and MRI’s of my injury. These are supposed to be experts but I felt like they were guessing on what to do every time I spoke with them. Sure, this may be a good place for minor pain, but if you have chronic pain that limits you, stay far away. I’m not giving a penny more to this place.

They used to care about you, but now they have stopped caring about treating your pain to setting limits on your medications. They are decreasing the amount of pain medication they allow patients. So on medication dose treats all! Whether your pain increases as they cut back on your medication THEY DON'T CARE!!
So if you have minor pain go to them, but if you have major chronic pain go somewhere else!!!! If you could rate them in negative numbers I'd give them a minus 5.

Vince Perino at Algone has changed my life over the past year. He listened and continues to listen to my concerns. He monitors my medication to make sure dependency doesn't become an issue. Having some pain relief has allowed me to lose 100 pounds, start my 2nd career and play outside with my 7 y/o daughter. I would highly recommend Algone(especially Vince) if your in pain and need assistance getting back to the point where you can live life again!

Drove all the way from Anchorage to be seen only to be refused because I did not show 30 minutes before my appointment. I think it’s just asinine to make an appointment at a certain time but reality you need to be there 30 minutes sooner too much room for confusion. And then to be turned away after an hour drive is infuriating will not be going back. Will be finding a new Dr, somebody that is a little more realistic and understands our time is just as important as theirs.

Dr. Grissom was the best! Had been with him for almost 20 years. Then comes the new owners. They are paranoid about pain med abuse, in which I don’t deny happens. However, for people like me that need pain management without abusing this is not the place to go. I had a wrong pain med count and had to sign papers on it, which flagged me. The situation was resolved in my favor. However, I was put on a patch that is for abusers. Which did not even help with the pain. I loved and miss Luda. With the owners being MD’s they are over her decisions. So she could not help me with the situation that I had been put in.
