My family member is currently in treatment at AMFM and so far has really enjoyed their experience. They said clinicians are top-notch, the food is incredible (a chef cooks meals daily), the program is structured and efficient. We spoke about 10 days within their admission and they already felt the progress of healing, not to mention the tone of their voice was upbeat and promising. They are so grateful to be in the program and our family is grateful to AMFM for the compassion and dedication of their clinicians in helping my family member grow and heal.

I’ve heard repeatedly that AMFM is such a great Program. My son was assessed and accepted ready to admit the following day from the hospital. I thought it would be helpful to email my son’s medication history and any side effects from previous medications. A few hours later at the 24th hour I receive a call from the Intake Manager letting me know they reversed their decision to accept him. I was given a very general explanation that it was too much medically to deal with side effects and clinically it would be too much time involved. These were side effects that are most often seen from the anti psychotic they prescribe. I would think as a skilled Residential with a very robust Clinical Team they would be adept at handling normal side effects from anti psychotics.
That was very disappointing coming from such a reputable places as this. At least my son didn’t t have to go through being rejected for his adverse side effect AFTER he started the program. That sounds somewhat discriminating with mental health. Would any other Physician or Medical practice turn away a patient if they came in with an adverse reaction from a normally prescribed medication? My respect for AMFM has plummeted.

My daughter has been at AMFM for about a month, and unfortunately, this facility does not have it together. There seems to be constant turnover, with employees either getting fired or leaving because they’re unhappy with the work environment. Several group sessions have been canceled because staff had to attend training—what about the patients’ counseling? Other therapies have also been missed for various reasons, leaving patients with nothing structured to do or alternative therapies. Some “therapies” aren’t even therapy. Cinema therapy for example is just patients watching whatever movie they choose, with no consideration for potential triggers. There’s no meaningful discussion or reflection afterward—just a free-for-all.

There have also been issues with her receiving the correct medications and getting to speak with her psychiatrist. This is deeply concerning, as proper medication management and access to psychiatric care are essential for recovery.

It’s frustrating to see a lack of consistency and professionalism in a place that’s supposed to provide structured care and support.

I started Dec. 11, 2024 and ended Jan 17th 2025. i am dual diagnosis as mental health and chemical dependent. I have been to alcohol rehabilitation learning some of the same things but this program actually clicked. I have to treat the mental to treat the addiction. I was in Fallbrook, CA. This time I fully understand my mental and addiction illness. No words can describe the amount of tailored help and understanding all staff has. most are in recovery and only another recovery person can understand what one is going through. I have never received such tailored, compassionate (yet firmly consistent) help.

Hi this is Preya Morris, I just wanted to say thank you to John and everyone at AMFM, the staff is amazing and I'm very grateful for everything they do their. I was a client their many times a couple of years ago and it was nothing less then the best experience I've ever had. Just want to say I'm still in treatment but I'm so glad that I went to AMFM I still think about the program everyday. MR. Let me start by saying these people got a mess with me. I came in sober for over 30 days. I was then experiencing some intense mental health issues, but I wasn't ready to deal with that. The staff here helped me with my plan. They also helped me find ways of treating the disorders I had with and without medication. By the time I left, I had a job, partial mental stability and the life I knew I wanted. I am now over 60 days sober! Kat is amazing and wears many hats. She's not just a pretty lady in an office. Sandy is stern but really cares. Micah made sure I made it to the house safely even though it was midnight. Rae was my ray of sunshine. Michael constantly kept me laughing. He was also there when I had a panic attack. Kaylin was an amazing therapist. I mean the staff here go all in. So grateful.

Do NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE TO THIS ONE FLEW OVER THE NUT HOUSE NEST. I HAVE CONVEYED OVER AND OVER AND THEY DIDN'T LISTEN. NOW MY SON IS IN A ZOMBIE STATE WITH NO EMOTIONS. THEY ALL HAVE MONEY FLOWING TO NEXT STEP PHP AND SOBER LIVING! I HAVE STARTED AN INTERNAL INVESTIGATION ON EACH PSYCHIATRIST!

I’m at a different facility and almost everyone here left a mission for Micheal and I think it’s the funniest thing ever. These people also have all my valuables, and I feel they are financially responsible for giving my money back if they are refusing to giving me back my personal belongings.
