Extremely discriminatory practice. I took off work for this appointment and they decided to tell me they aren’t accepting patients under the age of 55 as of November 1st, AFTER I already made my appointment in October. Everything was approved ahead of time as well. I called my insurance and they said that’s not normal. Two of the receptionists ended up screaming at me. I was overwhelmed and crying. The manager then allowed me to have my appointment. I still don’t know what exactly happened, but it was traumatizing. There are windows looking directly into the exam room from the parking lot with no privacy. The nurse practitioner was good though.

I have been with Amistad for about a year and am very happy with them!
The female front office staff as well as the medical assistants and nurses are all polite and efficient.
Dr. Nabavi (male, 50s) is one of the nicest doctors I have met: very kind, always attentive, never in a hurry, and competent.
I like that they only treat patients over 55, this makes for a quiet, low-key waiting room.
The clinic is clean and well-lit.
They have a security guard on the premises and a good-sized parking lot. The clinic is located on 7th Street @ Nebraska Avenue (North Alamitos Beach neighborhood) and thus easy to get to from all parts of Long Beach.
My only suggestion: It would be great if they add a bike rack of some kind outside the front door. I ride a nice bicycle and would prefer to be able to lock my bike off the street, but since there is currently no bike rack it means I have to bring my bike inside which the staff graciously allows.

On my very first visit with this clinic, I met with Doctor Meena Meka who got me a referral to do an ultrasound. I had been experiencing pelvic pain for months. My previous doctor at a different clinic (unaffiliated with Amistad) did not take me seriously, but Doctor Meka did. Later on I was referred to get an MRI and then was referred to a gynecologist. The staff at this clinic do their job well. It's been over a year and I know I can still trust my health with them. Every visit I have had there were good experiences, from the front desk to behind closed doors. They are professional, knowledgable, and nice. I really appreciate them.

Update 5 years later: I am still a patient here and they still treat me as well as they have when I first became a patient here in 2018. I stay here because they are nice and helpful. I never dread coming here.

Just switch to this clinic. Never before had a nurse practitioner treated me. But is just me, being used to a medical doctor. I should had ask for its hours since this clinic is close on Thursdays. Which is a huge no no for me. Indian female doctor seemed very knowledgeable in her field. Unfortunately, she wouldn't let me finish telling her my symptoms frequently jumped in with diagnosis. Had an "all I know" approached.
3 stars are earned by the front desk MA's. They are very helpful plus kind.

This is the best place I ever been. I had No health insurance , the nurses and drs. Helped me to get care on a moment of my life the I was very sick no health insurance and never rejected me. Thank you Amistad Medical clinic God bless them always

Doc Meena Meka has been my doctor for 3-4 years(?), awesome and thorough doctor who is genuinely interested in patients and their well being. She's partnered with her father, Dr Ajay Meka, only seen him once but very nice and also thorough. I have always had an appointment so the wait isn't long as walk-ins wait can be since they're seen after the scheduled appointments. Staff is friendly and efficient.

Great walk in clinic! The staff is efficient and very nice. I was in and out in under two hours. If you've ever been to a walk in with no appointment you know how great this is.
