Go anywhere, use anyone other than this HORRIBLE company!
They bill for something that was preventive. We paid the bill in January, just because insurance is so slow AND insurance has agreed that this should have been preventive, but now getting these thieves to get our money refunded is a joke! Just this week they lied and said that insurance didn't pay. However, AAEA was paid on April 7th. They accepted an electronic funds transfer on April 8th.
How can you accept funds on the 8th, but claim that the insurance company pulled their payment back on the 11th? Impossible! Another company cannot grab money from your bank account!
Go to Columbus! Better yet, go to Bham, but don't go to East Alabama Medical Center for a surgery!

I am shocked that when I had a c-section in California, that I was left dealing with this horrible company. After they send you your first statement, if you don't pay in two weeks, they send you to collections and do not communicate with you further. I called them to straighten out my account and have been given the complete runaround. I was referred to collections 2 weeks after my last statement, I call the collections company and I am not in their database. Their business model is phone tag and send to collections, it's such a pain. I am just trying to pay my bill. I have never had a medical bill get sent to collections so quickly and with no correspondence - this should not be legal.

My review is just like all the other reviews. This company is VERY SHADY! We paid the bill, then we got a collection notice in the mail stating that we have not paid them. What makes matters worse, they don’t even have a phone number for you to call them. Only an answering machine, and no one has contacted me back. Now I have to go fight with a credit collection agency who only wants money. They don’t care about your proof! Which means I’m gonna have to dispute this on my credit report! If my appendix didn’t burst, I would hv never gone to East Alabama!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. My son had a procedure in February at EAMC. We paid the bill from EAMC and I thought everything was settled. Today I got a call from a collections agency regarding a bill from Anesthesia Associates. They had an old address on file. I have gotten nothing up until this point from Anesthesia Associates - no email, no phone call, no mail. Of course when you call billing, it goes straight to voicemail.

Really disappointing conclusion to a billing challenge. I found myself in an unfortunate scenario where a standard wellness procedure should have been covered at 100%, but AAEA was used as a downstream provider and they were out of network (though the facility that set it up is in network). Certainly not AAEA's fault but I I asked if they would be willing to work with me to either accept my insurance company's negotiated rate, or assist in some other manner to discount what I have to pay. After making the ask, I received a call back informing me that it's my responsibility to make good on the full, non-negotiated rate amount.

This place is a joke. Had a procedure done in Opelika. The doctor uses this group for the anesthesia so they're the ones that knocked me out. I had reached my out of pocket expenses by this time and everything was suppose to be covered 100%....even checked with the insurance company to make sure everything was covered... Got the go ahead from the insurance company. Well, three months later I get a bill for $671.00. Called in explained everything to the person in billing. She explained something didn't get coded right and they would send it back through... Two months later I get the threatening letter that if I don't pay it'll be turned over to collections. Called the insurance company. The guy told me that it needed to be send back through... they didn't have the stuff coded correctly... just have them recode it and send it back through.... Everything was covered at 100% just they didn't code it properly. So, called the billing department left a message on their answering machine explaining what the guy had just told me about the coding... Roughly an hour later I get a call from a girl from Anesthesia Associated of East Alabama.... Explain the situation again... Told her what the guy from the insurance company had said about it not being coded correctly... We go through the personal info to verify who I am senario. Then she looks on the notes any states... You called in back in February.... looks look it was sent back through for coding problems then... I explained what Jeremy had said about it needing to be recoded because it was covered at 100% ... They just hadn't coded it correctly. She tells me that it's my responsibility to make sure it's coded correctly. They did the work for East Alabama and I needed to get it coded properly. I explained to her that it wasn't my place to do their jobs... She said they did their job, they billed it... But you billed it wrong... No East Alabama coded it wrong... I asked why can't you call them and explain it to them and get it coded right. We can't you'll have to do that. I explained I didn't hire them, the doctor did and why can't you call and get them to recode it....supposedly it was recoded in February by you wrongly but again by you (the company). We can't do that it's your responsibility.... Why is it my responsibility to do y'alls job This goes on for several minutes before she hangs up... I'll change doctors and hospitals before I use this company again.

If I could leave no stars I would. BEWARE of this company! Son had a procedure done at East Alabama. They triple charged for the procedure. Talked to insurance and they say we are not responsible for the full amount because they hold a contract with them. The staff is absolute GARBAGE and they will say anything to scam you! EAMC, get this TRASH out of there!

These guys are great. They did the anesthesia for two surgeries, two babies , and two endoscopes. They have taken care of my husband at the Pain Clinic. I have never had a bad experience. In fact, they just get better and better. Our community is lucky to have a them here!
