I'm a Y employee and Ashley Thomas CRNP and another elderly black lady was very very helpful to me when I broke my foot spine. Both of those women get a 5 star from me. Now Dr Laquetta N Pettway was very dismissive and She was very Sassy. She's lucky That I wasn't too combative because I was in pain In my foot because she would have been dealt with verbally and reported by me. She left A young male nurse To help me out and I requested the guy nurse to bring her back to me because she stayed 5 seconds in the room. She's acting like you're wasting her time.

I brought my husband in for an illness. While waiting for him to complete his visit, a man with a child walked in. The dad was concerned about the child’s ear draining blood. It was after 8:30pm, and they typically do not take patients after 8:30. It was about 8:40, and the doctor/nurse came out and checked the ear. After looking in the child’s ear, they agreed to treat the child instead of turning him away. This place appears to care more about taking care of patients than just being here to collect money. ❤️

The treatment and diagnosis (burn) I got were perfect. However, the nurse told me I’m too old for this job, the doctor was bragging about her past experience, and I was not told the cream would be prescribed to me. I even asked, am I getting this (cream) and the nurse said no. I got an injection and there’s no documentation of that on my discharge notes. The plan of care is to keep the area clean and dry, but they did indeed prescribe a cream to be used (notified by pharmacy three days later) . Additionally, the cream is listed twice on the discharge notes and the nurse was even wondering about this. Poor communication, sloppy documentation. I wouldn’t trust a provider like this.

The nurse I had was awesome! So kind and helpful. However, the doctor saw me for about 2 minutes and seemed in a rush to leave. She prescribed me 3 medications. I only was given one at the pharmacy. When I called to ask them about it, the receptionist told me they were very busy and she didn’t have time to ask. When I insisted, she asked for my number and said she would call back. She never called back and I never received my other 2 medications. I was disappointed with my experience.

Absolutely awful.
Pro: receptionist was very nice and seems to be just coping with the hand she’s been dealt.

Cons: everything else. I made an appointment. I checked in online. I got to my appointment 30 minutes early and they let everyone who walked in after me see a doc before me. The receptionist did confirm that she had consulted with the rest of the staff and let them know that I’d arrived first and they continued to call people that arrived after me to the back. After I expressed frustration someone finally came out and apologized and said there was a glitch in the system but by this point I was beyond an apology. I stayed bc it was already late and I did not want to drive across town to another urgent care or have to pay another copay. UAB’s urgent care is much more organized and professional. If you can avoid it do not come here.

The doctor and his assistant were very nice, caring and knowledgeable. They showed genuine concern for my well-being. My problem was addressed immediately and expeditiously. Would definitely recommend them without hesitation.

Excellent experience. Staff, from office manager to doctor, were courteous, competent, and prompt. The diagnosis (flu) was made expertly, and the appropriate prescription was sent to my pharmacy. One of the best medical visits I’ve had.
