This place is GROSS!! Seats full of blood, throw up, coughed on and they don't bother cleaning. If you have little ones or a weak immune system DO NOT RISK YOUR LIFE HERE! you'll get sick for sure! They don't care at all to ask those people who don't think about others to wear a dam mask of others safety who just come for something else then sick it's gross people coughing and throwing up this place is disgusting it worth waiting longer at northwest or tmc then here. They also didn't get to me until hours later knowing i have a life threatening condition.

Wife sat 9 hours on a return from there on Tuesday. Finally left without treatment when it became unsafe due to homeless people taking over the entire ER throwing things, swearing and using drugs in the restroom to point it had to be cleaned but sat. The homeless were sleeping on double chairs and hanging their socks over other chairs. As I say it became unsafe and security only wanted to sit in cage away from them. Nurses seemed scared of the homeless and they seemed to want to drive away the patients. I’m going to find paying the copay for this second visit a tough pill as she got no treatment and has said won’t go back. May find out if we can legally get that copay erased by insurance as that was horrifying with the dangerous drugs in the bathroom to the violent homeless people. Sorry another Tucson hospital off my list. I may drive to phoenix for care.

I had a little procedure at the Banner South Medical Center and all the staff that I dealt with took great care of me. The doctors and nurses couldn't have been nicer, compassionate, caring and professional. Hopefully I won't need to have another procedure, but if I do and they want to send me to the Banner South facility, I know that I'll be in good hands and won't have any reservations based on my experience! 🙂

This hospital is a prime example of profit over patients. As one of the many for profit hospitals within Southern Tucson, the quality of care and services provided here is by far among the worse. Although, the staff does the absolute best to work with the available resources and they really want to help people, this hospital does absolutely nothing to support their staff. First visit was a 9 hour wait before we were seen by an MD. The second visit, was just as long with a blood glucose of 331 and hypotension and still no action. I do not recommend seeking care at this facility unless you are having chest pain, stroke like symptoms, heart attack, blood loss, or trauma. Banner Medical Center you need to do better for your staff and patients.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Especially in an emergency!! They don’t care about privacy, health or otherwise! I’m surprised they haven’t been shut down. I arrived via ambulance and waited a full 8 hours and was NEVER spoken to or examined by anyone. The waiting room was emptied out and still I was never addressed. The nurses appear to be so tired and not wanting to work.
I legitimately was not seen, only triaged and left to suffer in a waiting room chair.
I left after advising them the situation and they didn’t seem to care, and they REFUSED to give me any of my medical records to seek medical care elsewhere. Worse medical experience in my life!!!

I took my daughter to the ER, she had chest pain's for 2 day's and constant vomiting. We were triaged and were in the hallway with 4 other patients just waiting for an ER bed to be open. During the time instead of an EKG for a possible Heart Attack she was given and X-Ray, it's not the X-ray's dept's fault they were just following orders. Chest pains should have automatic EKG's done on patients, to Rule Out a Heart Attack or not. Blood work employees where Awesome and very professional and caring. My problem was that my daughter and other patients where not tended to as should be. We were constantly asking for help, patients that were in the hallway needed to be treated with respect especially during this time of sickness. My daughter needed to have her bed sheets changed after a few hours in the hallway, a gentleman was yelling out to go to the bathroom and needed help into the ER restroom but no one paid attention, I walked into the ER, no one was around, not one person, a worker finally came out of the room and I said, there is a patient that needs assistance to go to the bathroom .He went out and said do you need to go to the bathroom, he said yes, he tells the patient, can't you get up and he said NO I need a little help, the employee goes back in the ER and never came back. That poor man defacatedted and urinated all over himself and his sheets. He was there for hour's in that condition in the hallway. Look, if you can't tend to patients in your ER because of a shortage of employees and they have to be seen asap, tell them how long it TRULEY WILL BE!! So they can make the choice to leave and be seen at a more Reputable Hospital!! THE ER had NO Supervision in the Work Stations or Area, anyone could go in and out of room's, or anything else available,
. UNREAL!! A STEPHEN KING HORROR BOOK! When more employees FINALLY started to browse around, Everyone was talking on their CELL PHONES DURING WORK HOUR'S. BANNER PAY'S YOU TO WORK NOT CHIT CHAT WITH YOUR HOMIES!! There were room's available for patients, they were just not using them, finally a nurse came out and I told her the situation for the patients in the hallway sitting in their Crap. She said we are short staffed so have at it . If you need sheets to change beds go ahead, if you need a throw up cup there on the WALL. I told them I don't get paid to take care of patients because I'm am not on payroll. The patients that were waiting to be seen because a doctor cannot be treated until you are actually in an ER room and not waiting hours in the hallway. I want to stress the hospital was not in divert, which means they are being overwhelmed with patients which was one of the questions I asked. No just short staffed and HEAD'S in their Cell Phones which should only be permitted on Break or lunch!! Do Your Damn Job, stop pretending you don't have time to ck on patients who need assistance to go to the bathroom and be the Hospital ER that Banner Hospital Represent's!! We finally left to North West Hospital on Houghton, my daughter was Triaged and was given the upmost care and treatment immediately and everyone was very kind and professionally!! The ER Facility was IMMACULATE and not FILTHY TO USE. My BIGGEST CONCERN, is for all those PATIENTS who DON'T or CAN'T SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES! I would say if you can drive to North West Hospital on Houghton, you will be TREATED WELL untill BANNER on AJO WAY decides to OVERHAUL THE CONDITION'S AND THE WAY PATIENTS ARE TREATED IN THE ER!! LOOK, I GET IT THAT YOU HAVE THIS REVIEW PAGE, BUT WHAT IS REALLY NEEDED IS AN OVERHAUL OF THIS ER FACILITY!! SOMEONE IN UPPER MANGEMENT REALLY NEED'S TO GO AND LOOK AT WHAT PROCEDURES ARE DONE REGARDING INCOMING PATIENTS, CELL PHONE USE DURING WORK HOUR'S AND ALSO PERIOTIC CHECK'S OF THE ER RESTROOM'S BY HOUSEKEEPING. HAVING A HOSPITAL FACILITY THAT HAS NO GOOD HYGIENE IS A BIG RED FLAG, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE NOT SURE WHAT PEOPLE ARE COMING IN FOR!! SAFETY IS A PRIORITY!

I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. I am very disappointed in how my situation went my PCP sent me to the ER for worsening flu symptoms as I was waiting in the ER I started throwing up I have been waiting for 5 hrs no labs nothing yet. I got up and told the discharge persons I wanted to leave since my symptoms were getting worse that I had just threw up and all they said is “okay sorry” didn’t even offer to retake vitals or anything.

I really hate giving bad reviews when there's a lot of circumstances in play, but this ER is worse than St. Joe's. The nurses are clearly overworked and the ER is understaffed. There's vagrants all over the place just sleeping and a guy outside the door that's clearly having some sort if mental health breakdown who should have been sedated at the very least to assess if he was in pain.

I don't know how you can successfully run an ER this way. One man in the side waiting room with me had been waiting for 13 hours without having been seen. One of the nurses came out and stated he'd been calling the poor guy's name in the main waiting room, and they'll get to him in a bit. He was still waiting when I left an hour later.

Honestly I feel like the nurses were doing the best they could, but they looked burnt out. That's going to lead to mistakes, and the wait times can lead to medical conditions going unnoticed until it's too late. If there're no law suits in action, I assure you, there will be. Give your staff a break, and better pay. You have to be incredibly dedicated to work in these conditions. Wish I could give 5 stars to the staff and zero to the facility.
