Beautiful views, interesting terrain. Katie and Kate and all the horses were ready to go when we arrived. The kids really enjoyed the history of the old car and we all appreciated the history that Katie shared with us. We enjoyed the forest, water crossings (many of them!), and meadow. It would have been nice to have newer helmets for safety. The site indicates that the 2-hour ride is ok for all levels of experience, including beginners; however, it would have been helpful for the novice in our party to have had a little more guidance, especially after her horse was kicked twice by the other horses. All in all, would recommend as a highlight of visiting Seward

Had such as great time on the horseback riding trip today! Halle was super nice and was an amazing guide. Would definitely go again and book another trip. Definitely worth the price. Halle was even nice enough to take our pictures and round the horses for my friends and I for a group photo. I highly recommend anyone who is visiting Seward to take a stop at this place! We even saw bald eagles! (sometimes you can see moose and bears on the trail ride)

I would advise people to do this while you're young. Last year in June, my wife and I took a trail ride with Bree and her assistants and her dog. Bree was wise to advise me that our 2 hour tour would be more than enough saddle time - especially for a city slicker like us. So glad I listened to her. So happy.
We were guided through many ribbons of rivers of deep water, up to our boots, so much fun - never did that before. What a treat, rare experience, beautiful scenery of Resurrection Bay and Seward. Great photo ops.
Photographers: Take care to secure your camera if it's around your neck - your camera will seriously bounce.
This is a professional outfit. Horses were beautiful and healthy. Bree carried a large caliber Smith & Wesson revolver in a leather shoulder holster for bear protection - very reassuring. SO ALASKA!! I love it. Thanks for a great time and lasting memories.

Updated to say I actually have a Lis Franc fracture and need surgery. So .. that sucks and not only is it super expensive, but I also will not be able to run / dance / do the active things I enjoy for up to 6-8 months.
The views are amazing and the people are very friendly which makes writing this review hard, but I want to be honest, especially for those with children who would be considering this ride. I have ridden horses in Mexico, Jamaica, Turks, etc .. these horses were the least trained trail horses I have ridden. I was bucked off and have bruised ligaments in my foot and will be on crutches for at least the next few days of my vacation.

Bree was a fantastic tour guide and put my nerves at ease quickly. The horses are all unique with their own personalities and she knows them all. Her dogs are absolutely adorable too. We had Scout & Frisco and we found ourselves smiling the whole way. We saw eagles and were able to take some pictures with Brees help. We had a great group and an awesome experience. We are both so happy we decided to book this when it came across on our map. Thank you Scout, Frisco & Bree!

First the good... the views of Alaska on this ride were incredible, but rider beware, this is NOT a leisurely trail ride where you can sit back and enjoy the views.
Four in my family went and thankfully my young son did get the best horse, but the other three of us had to constantly fight our horses to stay in line or on the trail. The worst part was my teen daughter TWICE was taken into the trees and knocked off her horse and into the mud (thankfully she was not seriously injured). This all happened right in front of the the trailing guide and nothing was done at least to keep it from happening a second time. In fact, I am not sure the trailing guide said two words the entire trip. In general the guides were inattentive and didn't intervene to help. When the front guide tried to point out some sights on the ride only the first couple riders could hear what she said. Also plan to get wet! The streams that are crossed are in places up to the horses belly and on our spring ride it was still cold so once wet it was even colder. Finally, I just realized that the Yelp site says 2 hr rides are $129 per person - We were charged $230 per person! Bottom line be sure you are a very experienced rider, take them up on the offer to wear a helmet, and expect to spend the whole time reigning your horse in instead of enjoying the views.

I rode with Brea @ Bardy's 12 yrs ago & was excited to share the amazing experience with my husband & children. I booked 6 months in advance, saying we had young children. I also sent an email 2 weeks ahead of time, confirming we had 2 young children w limited experience & that my husband had never been on a horse & was nervous. With this information, Brea put my husband & children at the back of the line that included my family and 2 others. My youngest was the very last in the line, my older child ahead of her, then my husband. Brea's 12-year old daughter was at the back of the line to help, but not long into the ride was moved up to the middle to get between 2 horses who were not getting along. Around the middle of the ride, my husband saddle slipped sideways and my husband was struggling to keep from falling off. They were able to help get him back upright and tighten the saddle. Near the end of the trip, after crossing a wide stream that was around 3 feet deep (up to horses' bellies) my daughter's horse ran to catch up with the line. She said when this happened, her saddle shifted to the side and her horse shook, causing her to fall off. She was screaming. My husband was yelling for Brea to come help. He was unable to get off his extremely large and now agitated horse. All I could see was an empty horse. Then I saw another empty horse. Then I heard my son crying for help. His horse had jumped as a response to my daughter's cries. My husband's horse had reared up but he was able to stay on. Brea rode her horse back to help bc they were ALONE. I still couldn't see anything but empty horses and heard horrible screams for Mommy. With the lead horse gone, my horse was very upset and agitated. It was jumping around. I desperately wanted off both because of his behavior and because my children were screaming for me. The experienced riders and helper behind me were yelling at me that I could not get off my horse & I needed to keep my horse calm or the other horses would run. When the empty horses ran past us my horse bolted. When I tried to slow him, he bucked me off and kept running. I suffered a dislocated hip & many bruises. My son had a swollen eye, bloody cuts and scrapes and blood in his mouth. No first aid was given or offered. My dad drove to pick us up from the trail and get us to first aid bc I couldn't walk and no first aid was offered to us. I am shocked and saddened by the dangerous line placement and complete lack of concern or care for injured riders. What if this had happened in the deep water crossing? TWO loose saddles in one trail ride!? All could have been prevented with a guide by the children and inexperienced rider.Thankful our injuries were not more serious.
