I was incredibly upset by the treatment that I received by the ultrasound technician at my first appointment. The staff at this facility failed to mention prior to my appointment or upon arrival for my appointment that only one person would be allowed in with me. (I have been told this at other facilities and happily followed rules) mind you, it was my husband and my 14 month old daughter. My husband was excited (as any expecting parent would be) to see the FIRST ultrasound. This also a scary time for us as we have experienced early pregnancy loss and the first ultrasound has a lot of emotions riding on it. After the ultrasound technician decided to allow my 14 month old into the exam room, she barley said two words to us as she began to scan the baby. The scan could not have lasted more than 2 minutes. She barley acknowledged the baby's heartbeat. When she was done she almost threw the printed pictures in my direction ( all of which are blurry due to how fast she preformed the ultrasound) she then threw paper work in my direction instructioning me to sign it without any explanation of what the paper work was. A visit that was supposed to be exciting turned into a horrible experience due to the staff not being able to clearly communicate office policy. I will not be returning and would not recommend this facility to any expecting families.
I guess I was wrong for imagining that a WOMEN'S HEALTH center might be understanding that WOMEN have families.
(My previous doctor in a different state had children's toys in the waiting room. Clearly a facility that understands FAMILY needs.)
