I originally loved Behavioral Wellness Group after attending both (youth) IOP and individual for about 2 years, but as time went on I began to be insulted by the employees and faced incredible biasness. I had to censor myself and couldn’t talk about what was going on in my life, but others could speak freely. There was blantant favoritism in the IOP groups and a lot of unfairness that led me to censor myself even in other IOP groups out of fear of judgement from the staff. One staff insulted my physical appearance and implied it’s the reason I don’t have friends. Another staff repeatedly asked me not to speak on certain topics, but allowed others to speak on that same topic with no issue. Overall, I loved BWG at the beginning but the staff became less professional as time went on and exhibited a lot of negativity towards me and me alone.

I suggested behavioral wellness group to a friend and they had a similar experience; lack of professionalism from the staff. I definitely don’t recommend this place to anyone in a teenage-young adult age range because it’s likely you won’t be taken seriously. I left with insecurity and more problems than I had started with.

The Substance Use/Dual Diagnosis IOP was helpful and held me accountable for joining NA/AA meetings.

Update 2 : Ive been getting treatment from this office for over a year and have seen many psychiatrists and therapists over the past 9 or 10 years to treat my severe chronic mental illness. I’ve done almost all the kinds of treatments available: CBT, DBT, IOP, psychiatric medications, individual therapy, group therapy… you name it, I’ve probably had the treatment. At first I felt the care was lacking and was too expensive… but after seeing the therapist Halle and Dr Tandra and sticking it through and realizing what I really needed from a therapy session and asked for it and Halle coordinates and facilitates the type of therapy that I need. I could see myself happily continuing to get treatment from this office for a long time. I’m glad I continued working with this office and getting treatment even though it felt at times very very frustrating.

My daughters and I have been receiving individual and IOP services from the Behavioral Wellness Group over time for 8 years for various mental health challenges. The therapist we have seen have been nothing short of outstanding!! Dr. John Glovan, Mr.Michael Pollack, and Dr. Elena Zagarskas are those that we continue to see. Their knowledge, compassion, high integrity, excellent technique, and kindness are like no other place that we have been to for such services. They skillfully taught my daughters and I various skills and tools to cope with the various significant ups and downs of life in a healthy way. For this, we will always be eternally grateful as this training in truth has been absolutely life saving!!
Thank you to The Behavioral Wellness Group ā¤ļø

Stephanie. Maddie. And Dr zagarskas were excellent to work with and I will be forever thankful for everything they did for me. Stephanie’s IOP program is life changing I would recommend to anyone who needs tools to get through every day ups and downs. Maddie is down to earth and relatable and really listens and has realistic solutions. Dr Zagarskas was really caring and easy to work with. Thank you for everything you have done for me and my family. Take care.

Their IOP program is fantastic! I have gone through the program twice now over the last two years to get a better grip on my mental health and substance abuse issues. Mental health requires constant upkeep to remain stable and healthy. This IOP teaches you the skills necessary to get yourself back on track and teaches you how to change your thinking for the better. After my second time through IOP, I have started seeing one of their therapists. They are very professional and keep your information confidential. A special thanks to Michael Pollack for all of his help!

EDIT: I have added to the review.
Whomever said the adolescent IOP only watches videos is mistaken. 2 of my children took it and both said this wasn't true.

As for charging for a no show.... you signed and agreed to that.

I have never been pressured to write a review, my life was changed and I will tell everyone about BWG.

I am sorry for the ones that didn't see a change in themselves or their family. You will only get out of what you put in.

This place has changed my life. Caring staff, helpful individual counselors and a wonderful group class. Highly recommend.

Adding an Edit: I just completed the Health and Wellness intensive out patient program with Dr. John Glovan. The tools, skills and support is amazing
I am on my way up and it is because of here.

2 of my children also too intensive out patient programs too and they are able to deal with life more effectively.

I have referred everyone I know here and would always continue

I am so grateful to Dr. John Glovan and the Health and Wellness Intensive Outpatient Program. I have had the pleasure of working with a very personal and professional team of Barbara Ballash / Jennifer Merthe-Grayson / Jessica Terrizzi / Elizabeth McDermott / Kelli Hess. This team has guided me to a deeper awareness, acceptance, and application of skills and tools for a much improved mind, body, and spirit approach to truly living my best life. I have worked extensively 1:1 with Dr. Zagarskas in psychotherapy who continues to challenge me and see my blind spots.
To further improve my mental health the Aftercare program led by Katie Petrochic has been a blessing to apply all that I have learned and continuously improve on this journey. I highly recommend this program for anyone who wants to improve their overall well being. Everyone of us can benefit from choosing to work on how and what we THINK about. This impacts how we FEEL. No matter what our circumstances or experiences have been, this program has changed my life in such a profound way that I could never go back to how I used to be. Thank you so much Dr. G for giving me the opportunity to CHOOSE a different way of BEING! I am forever grateful to you all! Best Wishes - Mickey Timco
