What a wonderful, serene property! It was just what I needed to get away for a short 2 hour drive from the Bay Area with my dog. The staff is exceptional! The grounds were lovely. The room and amenities were impeccable with a glass of champagne offered at check-in, as well as fruit, cheese, and a bottle of wine in the room - all included in the resort fee. I particularly appreciated that this is such a dog-friendly property. They had the room set up for my Shiba - with a bed, water/food bowls, and treats. We both felt incredibly welcomed!

We stayed two nights for our anniversary and loved every relaxing minute of it. We ate both nights in the restaurant as well as breakfast both mornings and the food was excellent. Loved the amenities in the room: filtered water, chocolate, cheese & crackers, robes & slippers. We enjoyed the adults only hot tub in the morning. Great way to start the day. Our massages at the Spa were excellent (highly recommend Susie). The beds were so comfortable and the blackout curtains so effective that we slept in both mornings! Also we enjoy the Bernardus Marinus wine so we went to the wine tasting room in Carmel Valley Village to pick up a few bottles. We will be back again!

This was our second stay at Bernardus Lodge. The grounds are impeccable with ample places to relax outside or inside. We especially enjoyed the gas fireplace and comfortable seating area in our room along with the nice assortment of treats and drinks. With many of California’s most iconic golf, hiking, and dining establishments nearby, the location is perfect. Looking forward to our next visit.

This is one of the very best resorts at a winery anywhere. Roomy, luxurious suites abound with a fabulous restaurant and bar. The outdoor areas and pool are superb and the ambiance is exceptional. We sat by the wood burning outdoor fireplace each evening with a bottle of wine to unwind at the end of each day. Simon and Holly on the staff were outstanding, they couldn't do enough for you. The entire staff provide superb customer care. Do not miss Bernardus Lodge when planning a trip to the area!

All Bernardus staff went above and beyond great service during g my birthday weekend! Simon and Garet were particularly helpful with our scavenger hunt all over the property and finding last minute dinner reservations. The dining at Lucia was amazing! The spa experience (massage) was so relaxing. Thanks for making it an unforgettable experience for my whole family!! We will definitely be back!

Beautiful, serene property in Carmel Valley with clean and spacious rooms. Friendly, attentive staff. Driving distance to many hiking trails and restaurants. Breakfast: Best lox/bagel I’ve ever had. Pancakes were ok. Perfect for a couples getaway.

Beautiful and peaceful property! We ate dinner one night at Lucia, which was lovely and watched the sun set each evening from the infinity jacuzzi. Our only complaint is that we booked nights under two reservations (using credit card points) and I called ahead to ensure we wouldn’t have to move rooms - was reassured they would connect the bookings and we’d have one room for the week. And then when we checked in we were told…we’d have to move rooms. Other than that, we really liked the resort and would definitely return!

Yes, the pillows were the fluffiest ever! The property is beautiful with many amenities (infinity hot tub, spa, garden, lawn game area, heated pool) so that one never needs to leave. Our trip to Carmel paled in comparison to the day we spent at Barnardus. Every member of the staff was exceptionally helpful, always going the extra mile with a smile.
