I only give it a 1 because I have to give it something to post. This place is pointless. I went in on Wednesday with mental health issues, homicidal, suicidal. Saw a nurse on Thursday and today they said they are increasing my anxiety meds. I have been in here before, but now they cut the whole program out. None of the groups on their schedule happen. They want you to just stay medicated and out of their way. This morning I was cussed out by Jolisa because I happened to be in the day room which is right next to the office and she was having an unprofessional conversation about a former patient here, that went to the hospital last night.I very nicely stuck my head in the office and said that she shouldn't be talking about her like that. I continued walking back towards my room, then Jolisa, apparently having little to no professional training came hollering behind me. She said that I should just go.

It is a costly service. Charged $1k+ with description: "CRISIS INTERVENT MENTAL HEALTH SERV". I thought it was free for masshealth for the adult crisis, mobile crisis.
And the service I asked for was just a referral to visit BMC Psychiatry. That too, I never received! Worst! They bill me even for the phone calls I made, asking for an update on why I haven't gotten the referral yet. Worst! (Dont go!)

I called at 1:13 am and Speak to a women named Terry, She was very aggressive and had no compassion and didn’t want to help me with my daughter crisis as she had cuts all over arms. I reported this last before and she still working with the Best team, She has mentally abuse me and talk to me so harsh and when i asked for someone else she stated she’s the only one there. She needs to be investigated and retained. I don’t know why people bring their family from all over the work to Boston for thete care.

Based on the observations of others- In many ways Best bills itself as an alternative to the Emergency room. The truth is they work closely with ERs and often encourage callers to visit the ER "because it makes things go easier". However BEST really contracts with unlocked units (read: clients who are not acute) and shouldn't tell people to go to emergency staff. They are not transparent with callers and are really only good when resources are available. In the age of corona and a lack of resources, they are not helpful and many of them are not trained to handle difficult behaviors. Definitely sound burnt out and not warm and friendly.

This agency is absolutely terrible and I don’t understand how it’s legal for them to function like this. They sometimes don’t show up at all & never tell you, nor do they contact you to see if you’ve stabilized or are even still alive. They say they’ll call cabs for patients and then don’t, they show up hours after they said they would (if at all), and they’re just plain rude to people in crisis. BEST is an absolute disgrace to mental health care.

The letter E in B.E.S.T. stands for "Emergency"....called the BEST Team last night due to my son who is on the spectrum becoming disregulated and assaulting my other son. It took 83 minutes for a response from B.E.S.T. The doctors at Tufts told us that we can't call 911 when our son is assaulting others members in the house but had to wait for BEST to respond. Failure by both BEST and Tufts Children Hospital.
