On 9/7/2024 I visited Boston Orthopedic Respiratory Equipment store which seems to cater to people with disabilities. I was looking for a wheelchair lift for my SUV. I was very disappointed upon the entry of the building, no handicap buttons to open the doors and the doorway was bit narrow, so we had to used both doors. When I got into the building the office was at the end of the hallway very cluttered with boxes, scooters, parts, wheelchairs. I couldn’t enter the actual office because of the clutter and could not navigate my wheelchair, so I had to wait in the hallway while my daughter went to look at the equipment. Upon speaking with the sales person to see if this equipment would be a good fit for me. He stated that they have no floor displays and he could not open the item because it would be considered an open box item and he can’t sell it and if you buy it, no returns. How can salesperson without a disability relate to people with disability. These companies need to some floor display to accommodate people with disability. I am disappointed 💯

Not all scooters are created equal. Battery ran out very fast on the first 2 go go scooters. Not fully charged on delivery. Company came and replaced quickly to victory scooter to use for 4 days. Again, one scooter were not fully charged on delivery and the delivery guy admitted to us it wasn't fully charged. With the larger victory scooters, one of the scooters stayed full charged all day regardless of speed. The other victory scooter ran out much faster.
So, we had to go turtle speed the whole time we walked around boston and had to charge multiple times throughout the day on the scooter that died faster. Was promised both scooters to go about 10 miles. One did. The other lasted about 3 miles.
Yes, the scooters were great and my husband didn't have to use manuel wheelchair throughout Boston, but the battery drained out faster on one of the victory scooters. Very frustrating that it didn't come fully charged on delivery and we had to keep charging the one victory scooter throughout the day. We ended up not using that scooter for the majority of the time. Thank goodness I can walk far, but my husband has limitations so we used the good scooter for him.
When we called, company always got back to us quickly. By the time the 2nd scooters came, we didn't want to go through the hassle of changing out again, so we just made do. I recommend them for their response, but just know they should stay fully charged for a while and should come fully charged, which takes about 8-12 hours. If not, switch it out

Went here a few times for wheelchair repair and was very satisfied with the service. I had another flat tire and contacted them to swap the flat for a new one that I just purchased. They scheduled someone to come out to my place the next day and said they would send me an invoice. I waited all day for the invoice, but it never came. The next day, my sister had an emergency and needed me to sit with my special needs nephew for a few hours. I called them first thing to cancel the appointment and was told someone would reach out to reschedule. 3 days and no call, so I called them. The phone rang to voicemail and the mailbox was full. I sent them an email, no response. I emailed them again, citing a sense of urgency because I had a medical appointment. Someone responded asking me to send pictures of the wheel to be replaced so they could tell me if they could do the swap. I did as request and to this day I still haven't receive a response. I took the hint and reached out on a local community page and a guy came out and replaced the wheel for a nominal fee. Disappointed. I really liked them.

Complete scam company. Horrible customer service. Wrong equipment delivered and they wouldn’t take it back. I have been home from the hospital over a week and was told someone will come deliver all equipment into the apartment and set it up for me. 3 incorrect deliveries later I still don’t have everything I need and no one has come to set anything up. Avoid this company at all costs, I don’t want anyone else out there to have to experience this.

Edit: I would like to elaborate further as I have now seen the company responded to my review. I have spoken with the insurance company multiple times and the items ordered were 100% correct and very specific. I even confirmed the items I needed with the person on the phone when they called to confirm the delivery for the third time. I was discharged from a rehab hospital and the items ordered were very specific and the items boston orthopedic delivered were incorrect on all 3 deliveries. The delivery driver they sent was disabled, missing one hand and told us he was unable to come up the stairs to the third floor. He did not speak english and never once offered to set up the equipment which we had no idea how to do ourselves after we were assured multiple times that they would help. The driver was never refused to be let in, he told us he could not come up the stairs. Also on the final delivery the invoice received did not even have the correct items, I received a wheelchair (which was wobbly and had one wheel that doesn’t even touch the ground) and the receipt only said 3 in 1 commode which we refused because we had already received that on the previous delivery. Saying that we let a pizza delivery in but refused the delivery driver is a complete lie. I needed the delivery driver to come in to bring all the equipment up and set it up for me because I am in a wheelchair and walker, which he did not do one time on all three delivery attempts. Absolute trash company that should be shut down immediately.

Minus 5 stars. The manager - an excitable loud guy with an accent- just screamed at me and hung up on me. Our second recliner (first lasted 2 years) broke after 2 months. Took a week to get a repairman out during which we had to rent a loaner ($$$) because the recliner is used for dialysis sessions at home. The manager told me it takes a few days to mail a new remote out. I asked why not have it overnighted and he said overnighting a remote would be expensive (as if several hundred for a rental for a week is not. He said he’d call me with the price to overnight and never did). A woman named Naz who works there has been extremely helpful and arranged for a repairman to visit. Today when he arrived I asked the repairman to help me push the loaner recliner outside and apparently the manager fired him for doing just that because it wasn’t in his job description (The repairman spoke NO English and so he couldn’t tell me he couldn’t help me or more likely he didn’t know). The manager screamed at me over the phone that I should have known better than to ask the repairman to touch the loaner. It wasn’t his job (). So he had to fire him.
It was a totally insane conversation.

I strongly discourage anyone from using the company. Poor quality chairs, crazy insane discussions with manager. Who needs it. Heading to Jordan's next time.

Extremely sad to share that our experience with this company has been horrible. delivers wrong equipment, refuses to communicate and makes an already stressful situation way worse. 0/5 stars the manager was rude and disrespectful, and condescending on the phone when trying to resolve issues

My mum’s been having some trouble with her breathing, so I needed to get her a portable oxygen concentrator. I found this store, and they were helpful in explaining the different models. I picked one that’s light and easy for her to carry around. It arrived on time, and she’s been using it without any issues. It’s made a difference for her day-to-day.

This shop is all scam. They use bait-and-switch to scam their customers: they invoiced us for the higher price GoldenTech product but slid in the lower price/quality PRIDE product when we went to pick up. They charged us MA sales tax and try to profit it themselves (even they know clearly there is no state sales tax on wheelchairs). They repetitively made false promises for refund but never did. (We have to resort to seek help from the credit card company to cancel the transaction). The MA AG should investigate this business and shut it down to prevent them to scam the people who need help the most. Basically they are so low that they took advantage of people’s disability.
