Wow, i have been trying to call for weeks but I couldn't get anyone to talk. But when I selected option for Spanish speaker didn't have to wait at all but when the agent, who speak perfect English, learn that I'm not Mexican they transferred me to the other agent and had me wait agian.

I have been trying to get ahold of the yolo medi-cal office for 4 years with no luck. I'm on hold for hours every time I call. I moved to Sacramento but can't get my case moved because they don't seem to want to use benefitscal or contact me in any way. I actually don't even want medi-cal, I no longer even financially qualify, I just want to end my coverage and I SIMPLY CANNOT get anyone to review my case or call me. Insane, I guess I'll have to try sitting at the office next? But who has 2-4 hours in the middle of the day

I moved counties and have been unable to see a doctor for MONTHS because the people working at this office refuse to respond to my caseworker's inter-county transfer request. I've called multiple times and am always on hold for over an hour without ever speaking to a worker. I haven't been able to get my psychiatric medications because I have no health coverage where I live which resulted in me being involuntary hospitalized in a psych ward a couple days ago. I've called the Medi-Cal Telephone Service Center and they said there's nothing they can do and I have to go in person so I guess I have to drive there which will be a 4 hour round trip.

The worst office I had experienced. I can go on and on about what they have done wrong but the bottom line is…….. They teach their employees to make it difficult for the community to receive benefits so that is why they wait till the last day to call you back or make you wait hours to then tell you over the phone that I need to contact my case worker to access my account. But the employees are surely happy with their lazy job to call off work just because they want to. Receive yearly pay raises and basically just walk around all day like they are at the casino. Get it together people!

My case manager took 2 months to complete my case. When I called I was left on hold for 3 hours. The lady that helped me finish my case took only 20 minutes to complete it. But somehow my case manager never got around to completing a task that only took 20 minutes of her time? This is her job. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the lady I talked to was wonderful but I would’ve given it 1 star since my case manager took way too long to get me my benefits and I was on hold several times for about 1-3.5 hours.

Ever since 2021 I’ve been trying to get a hold of them. You wait for hours on hold after they make YOU call them. Then they usually hang up or interrogate you instead of helping.
-No option to live chat online when you can’t reach a worker by phone .
-Pray you get a kind caseworker, most of them have the empathy of a hornets nest..
-No way to upload screenshots if you do freelance work or social media. They’ll ask you to write a letter saying you work for *insert brand here* only for a different worker to tell you “I see the letter but we still need proof”. (Hopefully this has changed.)
-New website, same lack of options and means of providing proof for more nuanced emergencies
-Site shows you the potential benefit amount you’ll get if you make your appointment (again, YOU have to call and usually nobody will pick up after hours of holding…) So quite literally dangling the benefits in your face.
If there are no other options other than to sit on hold, then what can the public do? People are starving! Using Coinstar and thrifting essentials to get more groceries!!

My last appointment was in March and I called at 1pm and was on hold until the place closed at 4pm… But sent me a letter of denial as if I was the one who didn’t make the appointment.
Y’all need a complete overhaul. There are too many loopholes for hungry people to jump through.
WHY do the meanest people decide to be nurses and social workers smh..

I’m currently on hold for a 10am appointment right now and that call already dropped once. I don’t expect a different outcome. 😒
