I had been disappointed that I couldn’t schedule at my previous PT clinic. But I am surely glad that California Rehab was nearby and could help me. I worked with 2 therapists and they were always friendly, and most importantly, skillful. My strength and range of motion improved week to week following a joint replacement. I’m so grateful!
The office secretaries are kind and efficient and keep things running smoothly. Also, the PT Assistants were excellent! Bright, enthusiastic and centered on your comfort and improvement.

I have been attending physical therapy here for almost two years, trying to heal from two major cervical spine surgeries. Here are my unvarnished comments:

Jeremy: Outstanding practitioner 5/5. Does a great job working on my my neck, back and spine through two major surgeries.

Taylor: 5/5 Incredibly kind and thoughtful, for which I am grateful.

Sean (spelling?): 5/5 Great pride of ownership - initially had a run in with her, but once things were clarified, nothing but respect for her.

Other physical therapists: 2/5 One male therapist really hurt me while working on my back, one female therapist (Lauren) apparently was too "back-to-back" to do her job. My experience is this is a very different place when Jeremy is not there.

The Crown Jewel Melinda 0/5: After attending Cal Rehab Benicia for almost two years, and being late maybe once ever (usually 30-45 minutes early (ret. military)), I showed up 20 minutes late. I later learned appointments were 45-60 minutes long, which would have been plenty of time for what I needed.

I live in Martinez, and left 40 minutes early, but due to debilitating pain of such magnitude, I was forced to pull over on the side of the road three different times to rest, it was that bad. I showed up anyway.

As I signed in, Melinda asked me my name, which I gave, and she then treated me like a 6 year old for being late. I tried to explain I was in incredible pain, but she wasn't having any of it. Somehow I didn't lose it (PTSD and anxiety) and left. Melinda decided that I was a no-show, which I got reversed. I am not certain if she is age discrimination (in my 60's not 6), and I find this type of behavior very disturbing for a place that is supposed to be a "place of healing." Perhaps a WFH job where she doesn't have to interface with humans would be better. People beware!

I have cancelled my remaining appointments in the Benicia location. I think I can do better.

I also find it disturbing that employees do not get MLK and Juneteenth holidays off. I always rescheduled appointments around those dates, since I disagree.

If you want 5 star reviews Cal Rehab Benicia, provide 5 star service.

Update to review: 0/0 Customer service: I reached out to the number which asked me to call them. No one seemed to know who I should speak to - finally spoke to someone in marketing, who stated someone from the regional office would call me. I remarked that I had no belief that would happen. That call was made a couple of weeks ago, and I have heard....drumroll... nothing. This was a failure of customer service in my opinion which was part of my reason for lowering the overall score from 3 stars to two stars.

The other reason: I contacted a different office to finish scheduling appointments, where I was told they would have to confirm with Med Risk, one of the 2-3 bottom feeders of the Workman's Compensation cottage industry. In effect they schedule appointments for you, without your consent, in hopes to gain your business, then have doctor's calling you asking why you missed scheduled appointments you knew nothing about. I ended the call based on that interaction. No thank you.

3rd update 3/17/25: After lack of follow-up and follow-through, I have decided to vote with my feet and leave Cal Rehab to others. Good luck and beware!

I’m thankful I got the referral from my doctor to see your professional team. When I first got the referral I did not know that you could assist me with my knee condition. After the second and third sessions I started to feel more flexibility in my knee. I am pleased to admit that after my complete 12 sessions l have gotten so much improvement and I am able to do things with my knee that I was not able to do before. I would recommend California Rehab & Sports Therapy to anyone who needs assistance with joints and mobility issues. Kudos to the team and staff!
