This place is awesome. Eugene and the rest of the staff are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and a pleasure to work with. They’re great at helping you understand why you are experiencing pain or discomfort, as well as explaining how the exercises they prescribe will help alleviate the problem. They’re also very patient as they demonstrate the exercises and guide you through them. I had never done PT previously so I was apprehensive before getting started, but it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish. Thank you Eugene & team!!

I have been coming to the Walnut Creek PT office twice a week for about 3 months, from about 23 miles away. PT clinics in my home area are impacted due to Medicare & other medical insurances reducing their PT reimbursements to providers. Clinics have left the area or are no longer taking my insurance for PT.

My experience with all of the PT's & assistants has been very positive. I was pleasantly surprised that appointment availability is good. I was able to book my first appointment within a week of my initial call, and I easily book 3 weeks out at times that work for me.

Each time, I work with the PT & assistant who is available. Initially, I thought that working with different PT's would not be beneficial, HOWEVER, I have been pleasantly surprised to experience how well the Walnut Creek staff works together for me. Everyone here is well versed on my specific issues, last appointment, exercises, and even my current physical challenges. They have a list of exercises that they've agreed on for me, and each of them are monitoring to make sure my form is correct & I'm targeting the muscles properly.

I happily drive the 45 minutes to Walnut Creek to work with this clinic!

Be aware! They will overcharge hundreds of dollars of copay from you!

*This review is not about the quality of the PT, but the horrifying experience with their front desk and the billing office.

I started my first appointment on Jan 16, 2025. I was charged $84 out front at their check in laptop/kiosk. The front desk told me explicitly that they will check my copay and deductible to ensure that I’m only responsible for the right amount of copay for each visit.

Trusting the office will do their job, I paid $84 for all 5 of my initial visits, till I logged into my insurance portal to review my claims. Guess what, California Rehab and Sports Therapy at Walnut Creek had significantly overcharged my copay from Day 1! I was only supposed to pay about $10 for all of my appointments, yet they happily charged $84 over and over and over again…

It was only after I brought this up to the office that they started to actually review my insurance, and they’ve already owed me hundreds of dollars by then! The first person spoke with me over the phone, Erica/Erika, promised that she’s issuing the refunds (at least for the first few appointments) right away, and I’d be expecting it in 72 hours for the bank to process it. She had also reassured me that this happens all the time - sometimes they overcharge, sometimes they undercharge, but they have a procedure in place to take care of the difference.

Soon after, I found out I shouldn’t have trusted a single word from her. I waited for a week for the initial refund and nothing happened. When I talked to the front desk again about this, their response was completely different! This time, they said that they’ve never come across a situation like this, and even if they’re to refund me, it will be when my case is completely closed.

The discrepancy in these two responses is shocking and confusing. Since I still needed my rehab, I had to keep going back to their office for the service. And each time, they’ve still been overcharging my copay (not as much as the first 5 visits). I’ve been urging the front desk and their director (Erica/Erika) to give me updates on the refund this entire time, but all that they do is dismissing or redirecting my questions by asking me to wait for the billing office/bank to process it or promising to call back and never did.

It’s been a month since I first started to try to get my money back. So far, there’s not a cent refunded and there’s not even any truthful explanation from anybody of this business! They stole my money, lied to me every time about refunding and eventually brushed me aside.

This may very well happen to you, if you’re considering becoming their client.

I'm very impressed with California Rehabilation and am seeing some early results for my trigger fingers and arm issues after a few weeks, while also learning some good habits and exercizes I can do at home and on the go.
