My GSD loves Camp Pendleton! She loves walking on base and she apparently loves Marines! That’s okay because we’re a military/ veteran family. She likes the tall palm trees and the marina area. The cottages look like great fun. The beach area is always so clean and it’s nice to see people fishing.
She loved the cadence of the nearby Marines doing PT. Picked up some chicken strips at Cane’s and ate them near the golf course while we watched people play golf ⛳️.
We sure had a great day!

This beach and RV campground was fabulous. There was a huge group when we arrived with tons of tents and cars, but come Sunday, the beach was empty and so great. It was quiet and perfect. We will be back. Loved the MCX that had everything you would need shopping wise. The weather was perfect and the sunsets were amazing.

First, as others have mentioned the beach is amazing!! My review is mainly regarding the cottages. They are bare minimum as you can imagine they would get destroyed otherwise. A few things that should be updated are:

1. The beds are horrible!! Springs in your back and so indented that you are tacoed into the bed.

2. Please add blackout shades. Light shines into the bedroom all night.

3. There is only a love seat to sit/lay on. A sleeper sofa would be great for added seating & an additional bed.

Some things to consider as you book your stay. There is no A/C so in July/August it can get warm in the cottage & uncomfortable to sleep at night. We were sweating all night.

I'd say 80% of people during our stay were there to party. The cottages are squished together & you have to keep all windows open since there is no AC so noise is going on all night till about 2am.

Despite this, we can't wait to come back, but now know what to expect & bring.

The room is dated, it could use a fresh coat of paint, new mattresses for the main bed and the roll out bed,
or remodeling.
But for its location and price I would stay there again despite the dated room.

Very nice beach on military base, clean. Very close to Oceanside CA, a really nice beach town, shops, restaurants and beach access. Mil base has newly renovated RV park, spaces on beach front are $90 per night and decrease to $65 for 2nd row, showers are available. Nice little cottages for rent, I believe are $120 per night also picnic tables and restrooms.

I love the Cottages here, but their customer service and reservation line are awful! The spots are awesome and such a great place to stay! I have been coming since I was a child and stayed hundreds of times.

Unfortunately their phone reservations are horrible. I called to cancel a reservation and spoke with Candy. She assured me that my reservation was canceled and that I was CCed on an email, confirming it. I was then told to keep following up with the reservations line. I never received the email and called back about 30 minutes later to make sure they use the correct email. Candy would not confirm the email address she CCed it to and couldn’t get me a confirmation. I am now hoping that my reservation is in fact cancelled to ensure I am not charged. I have called repeatedly since their reservation line is full and just disconnects me.

Better than San onofre. Cottages are pretty big and the beach is good and kid friendly.
