Encapsulating my placenta through Cape Cod Baby was one of the best decisions I could have made for myself (and my family)!

The first few days postpartum I was having a very hard time emotionally - crying at anything & everything, struggling to focus on the good moments, & just overall did not feel like myself at all.

Within days of getting the capsules, I felt like a whole new person. My emotions were more balanced, I had less anxiety, my mood improved drastically, & I had more energy (despite not getting much sleep)

We were very happy with our experience with Cape Cod Baby. Rae-Anne helped us overnight for the first 3 weeks with our second baby. In the weeks leading up to my delivery, she often checked in to see how I was doing and once we were home she couldn’t have been more helpful. With recovering from a c-section, I was happy just to have the sleep but Rae-Anne helped with the kids’ laundry, washed and assembled bottles and filled them for the next day, she even offered to make my toddler’s daycare lunches - anything that would make our lives easier. We decided to extend for another couple weeks and Shannon connected us another doula who had availability and fit with our needs. Rae-Anne and Shannon ensured a smooth transition with Ruth, our doula for the last 3 weeks. Ruth was super sweet and helpful in getting our little guy to sleep longer stretches at night. Everyone we worked with was extremely professional and supportive, I would highly recommend Cape Cod Baby to others looking for doula services.

I wanted to share this review as my experience with the professionalism and communication from Shannon and her team was so above and beyond and in stark contrast to some of the negative reviews here. I worked with Anna for postpartum doula care for 6 weeks. Throughout the whole time, Shannon was in communication with me and helped me secure replacement care when my doula was sick. Anna was absolutely INCREDIBLE and a true lifesaver during an incredibly difficult postpartum period with crying spells, breastfeeding issues, difficulty navigating issues with our pediatrician - you name it! She has so much expertise in infant and maternal care. I can't recommend Anna enough! My only critical comment is that I was billed every 2 weeks but instead of billing me only for visits that had already occurred, I was billed in advance for the following week which was unfortunate when visits had to be rescheduled and it make it hard to keep track if the visits I had paid for had actually happened. But again, Shannon was very easy to contact and worked with me to resolve the confusion.

Our night doula, Rae Anne, was worse than simply unhelpful. Worst newborn care experience I could have imagined. She was judgmental, unhelpful, uninformed, and rude. She watched me fold baby laundry, crying because I was so tired, and did nothing. She did not offer guidance to help with pump/feed/wake schedules, refused to change diaper in middle of night resulting in such bad diaper rash my baby had to be put on steroids, left used bottles on the nursery floor, the list goes on. Spoke with the owner and she barely apologized.

I worked with cape cod baby to receive the placenta encapsulation. If you’re thinking of doing it, or looking into the benefits, DO IT! The outcome has been amazing. It was my third baby and it’s the happiest and most energized i’ve been after having a baby! The doula came quickly after she received the ok text that baby was delivered. I also got the baby’s umbilical cord dried in the shape of a heart !

We had the great privilege of working with Cape Cod Baby and their team of wonderful doulas - specifically Jennifer Dennis - nearly every night from when we came home from the hospital until our twins were 11 weeks old, and I would recommend Cape Cod Baby and their doulas to families seeking infant overnight care without reservation. Jen is a twin infant whisperer - she handled the nights with our two babies seamlessly.  On nights Jen was not available to work with us, Cape Cod Baby provided coverage with other wonderful doulas on their team - so we were supported throughout the entirety of those early days. All individuals we worked with were excellent communicators, highly knowledgable about infants, and extremely respectful of our parenting style and wishes. Jen really got to know each baby as an individual and could speak to their specific soothing preferences and feeding habits. Above all, I felt she truly cared for them - this is a calling and passion for her, not 'just a job'. Cape Cod Baby was my reliable lifeline to sanity - instead of white knuckling those early days in overwhelm-sleep-deprivation-survival-mode, I could rest at night.  This sped my physical recovery from birth, supported my ability to exclusively breast-feed twin infants, and allowed me to be a more present and emotionally regulated parent for my toddler during the day through this big life transition.

I worked with Shannon for the first 3 months after my daughter was born, and it was the best decision I ever made.

Shannon is an expert in her field and is incredibly patient, kind, and reassuring. Bringing home a newborn, especially your first time, is overwhelming. Knowing we had Shannon in our corner made my husband and I feel safe - we knew we could trust her with our baby girl! We were able to enjoy the first few months of our daughters life that much more because of Shannon’s support. We will certainly be doing this again for our next child. I could not recommend her more!!

I can't say enough positive things about Cape Cod baby. I was fortunate enough to have Shannon Outchcunis for my night nurse for 8 weeks. This was my second baby but my older child has special needs. I wanted to ensure I could do this and have time for my older child to still feel important. She was the most extraordinary person to care for my child. I wish I had her to care for my first baby. I learned so much from her about my baby even though I was not a first time mom. Each child is different but I had no idea how different until I was in the situation. She identified issues that my pediatrician initially missed because my daughter was doing well and gaining weight. She was so thoughtful picking items up that I needed. She also identified what I would need ahead of time and recommended products that worked so I wasn't wasting money on ineffective items. She cared not only for my baby in an extraordinary way, but also for my entire family. My older child begged to stay up to see her each night. He loved her as well. I felt extremely comfortable with her in my home. It felt like I had a family member or friend in my home taking care of my baby; but in a better way because she is so knowledgable. I actually didn't want her to leave. I would highly recommend Cape Cod Baby for your night nurse but also dual services. I wish I had found her earlier but I am extremely fortunate that I found her to care for my baby and our family. Do not hesitate book her now before your child arrives. You are in good hands with Cape Cod Baby!!!
