CareWell Urgent Care Fresh Pond - Cambridge, Massachusetts

CareWell Urgent care is a mediocre last support clinic. Unfortunately getting in to my PCP and perhaps yours isn’t always easy. Sometimes you have to resort to an urgent care clinic. Here is what I experienced and you may too:

1) You are going to wait. Appointment times do mot exist at CareWell Urgent Cares. This time, I spent one hour waiting before seeing anyone. Last time it was nearly two hours.

2) You will not know what charges you will be billed for before or weeks after.

3) Outstanding waiting entertainment. Step Brother’s, The Office - the place felt like a college dorm room buzzing with ways to waste your time while you wait. Honestly, I enjoyed it.

4) Care is fine, but not attentive as any PCP I have ever had.

Come here if you have to. You won’t be disappointed but you certainly won’t be thrilled either.

Absolutely no issues here. I spent 3 hours earlier in the day going to two other CareWell locations and one additional provider and all were horrible. All I was doing was trying to get a rapid covid test due to a suspected exposure, and the people at the desks of the other locations could hardly give me the time of day.

At this location, the desk worker who received me at 2pm was extremely nice. He provided me transparent information about how long the wait was before I arrived, then provided me clear instructions to check in and see a doctor. He didn’t give me any sort hassle and was extremely friendly. He also was very quick to help other patients and seemed extremely competent. After having such a horrible time at the other 2 locations, this was a breath of fresh air. I would highly recommend this location for urgent care as a result of his service.

When I saw the provider, the care was prompt and easy, and my rapid test came back in about 25 minutes and confirmed (as suspected) that I was healthy.

I received excellent care from all of the staff and providers here. The nurse practitioner in particular was very kind, patient and informative with instructions following my COVID diagnosis. I would definitely recommend this location! Also there was almost no wait — I was able to reserve a time online in advance.

Wonderful experience. Everyone who helped me was kind and competent, especially the nurse practitioner- who addressed the lacerations on my face with care and concern. I felt entirely comfortable - and was 100 percent better off than had I gone to the ER after my fall. Both the receptionist and EMT who did the initial intake were terrific. This is a great place.

It was my first time visiting an urgent care clinic. I’ve always just headed to an emergency room for some reason. Never again! (And I think I’ll be coming back to this urgent care clinic!) There’s free parking in the back of the building, can’t beat that! The receptionist was pleasant. I waited maybe 10 minutes?! The nurse that came in to talk to me was really nice, pleasant, friendly, helpful & sympathetic. The doctor came in after a few minutes and right away she was very pleasant. She listened to everything I said (and what I complained about!) and I didn’t feel at all rushed! She too was very friendly, helpful & sympathetic. The doctor made sure all my questions were answered and I felt comfortable before leaving.
It really was a good experience!

I went promptly at 8am when they opened and had no issues. The woman working the front desk was very friendly and helped me navigate my insurance and intake paperwork. I was seen by both a nurse and NP within 10 minutes, had the necessary tests performed which came back negative, and left with guidance and resources of how to manage my symptoms. Would certainly use this facility again in a pinch if I couldn’t get in to see my PCP for an urgent matter.

Urgent care clinics that popped all over in recent years is a great alternative to trying set up an appointment with very busy Primary care physicians. This clinic is relatively new, clean, friendly staff. A simple walk in procedure and little paperwork involved. The reason why I have 4 stars is because despite of the fact that I was practically the only patient at that time I had to wait for over an hour to be seen by a nurse practitioner. After nurse has finally arrived, appointment took about 10-15 min. I was happy with the result.

The facility was very clean. The receptionist was very professional, and nice and she gave me options. I was seen super fast and the NP and assistant were also very nice and professional as well. All around a pretty good time considering its urgent care.

-UPDATE! Went for a second time today and it was GREAT again! They’re so professional and everyone is just so nice! Not too shabby that in the individual rooms you get a cable tv and remote all to yourself! I was in & out in 20min and had no wait at all with no appointment! Love this place for last minute non ER emergencies :)))
