I had been a patient since moving to the state in 2003. We were a military family and was sent to Carlsbad village family practice as they were accepting new patients. I first saw Dr. Ajir then began seeing Dr. Etedali both I absolutely love and felt well taken care of. Over the years we’ve relocated changed insurances several times but no matter the distance or coverage I chose to continue to see Dr. Etedali because of the care. I have a chronic condition which requires frequent bloodwork and monitoring. Recently my daughter and son needed to get established as they are now adults so of coarse I would bring them to my favorite drs office. However , when trying to schedule my daughter I was told they were no longer accepting my insurance and they will no longer see me as a patient. This was the first I had heard of this and being a long time patient with on going needs one would expect at the very least notice and/or alternative care. No I was just flat out told “we can no longer see you”. I am in the medical field myself and understand how insurance/ offices work. When an office drops an insurance it is required to let the patient know prior and to provide alternative care. I was not even given the option to be a cash pay patient which I would have until I could find an insurance they would take. I am now forced to find another Dr and start from scratch for myself and my children. Moral of my long story is If you are looking for a “forever” office this is not it.

My parents recently had to switch from Sripps to Carlsbad Village Family Practice and they were quite nervous about this change. When they stopped by the office, Dr. Ajir was on lunch break, but he still took the time to welcome them, answer their questions, and help alleviate their concerns. He even went out of his way to locate paperwork they would need for their first visit. He was very friendly and warm and treated them well.

After having different doctors and some with negative impacts on my health, let alone always feeling rushed out of their office or neglected and feel that am just a number to the doctor, I was introduced to Dr. Etedali and the practice and feel so blessed that she is my primary care doctor and has been for more than 15 years. Even though I have moved out of SD, I still have Dr. Etedali as my primary doctor. She is thorough with the exams, I never feel rushed out of the office. She listens to my concerns and follows through. She let me know of my lab results or any follow ups and honestly is one of the greatest human beings I have ever met. The office staff are very friendly and Feels like family. I always book my appointments in advance and recommend their practice to all my family and friends.
