Dr McCarthy is old fashioned and he doesn’t diagnose multiple sclerosis in women. Instead he puts them on wrong medication and sends them home in pain. He does NOT allow his patients to switch doctors or get a second opinion, even within his own practice. He is an old, bad neurologist and should retire and stop taking money for bad work. Seriously. Don’t go to him if you have a choice. God bless you. Be your own advocate and find another doctor.

I went to a neurosurgeon associated with CCHC for lower back pain. His secretary was supposed to set up an appointment for a pain shot in my back the same day I saw the doctor. 3 weeks after she was supposed to set up this appointment I called her to find out why I haven't heard from the pain management center yet. She said that she would check into it for me. This isn't the first time she dropped the ball concerning me.
Later on the same day that I called to find out why I haven't received a call yet, I get a call from the pain management center. What a coincidence huh? I asked the woman who set up my appointment when she received the order for my shot, she told me she just got it about an hour before she called me. So, my doctor's secretary lied to me.
It continues, today I go to the pain management center. After checking in, getting into a johnny, having my vitals taken, the nurse starts with the normal questions. Medications, allergies, etc, she then asks me who is driving me home? I tell her that I am driving myself home. She then tells me that someone must drive me home or I have to sit there for 2 hours. I didn't have the 2 hours to sit and waste while the medication wore off. They never told me that someone would have to drive me home. Never again will I deal with Cape Cod Healthcare again. I would rather die of pain or live in agony than deal with CCHC ever again.
