A perfect example of how terrible assisted care facilites are in this country. The cost is far, far too steep for a place that barely has any functional kitchen staff and cold coffee. My grandparents stay here and don't have the energy to complain, so I will on their behalf.
A place that charges 5k a month (Yes, $5,000 per MONTH) for two seniors who are not even especially disabled yet barely feeds them any food worth eating (and in tiny portions!) is definitely pocketing cash and using the minimal amount to actually care for the people depending on them. Not to mention that they treat their staff so badly that they can barely keep a cook for long, let alone get a driver to take their charges to and from something as simple yet important as church services. It's no wonder they barely feed their charges when they can't keep anyone around to man the kitchen. Some days, no one even shows up to make them breakfast, so they either don't eat until lunch (very dangerous for diabetics!!) or figure something out themselves.
My grandparents have told some of the staff (a "Victoria") their grievances, but when corporate came by to check on things, none of those were mentioned. So of course, things remain unchanged and they keep paying a ridiculously steep price for minimal care.
Thankfully my grandparents will not be there much longer, they are moving to a much better facility that will actually feed and accommodate them for a fraction of the price this lousy facility charges. Only send your family members here if you hate them. If your parent(s) starved and neglected you and you want revenge? Rent an apartment and check on them once a week, it's the same effect but definitely cheaper.

It should be 0 star. The care at this facility is beyound aweful/dangerous. The family removed her from this place. They gave insulin without doing sugar checks. She was nonresponsive when family went to check on her. That was a trip to the hospital, severely dehydration. She laid on a wet soiled diaper for 7 hours. The nurses there were the rudest. It was a lot going on there too much to post. Some people are not ment to be in this feild of caring for the elders. And that place is living proof.

I’ve been very pleased overall with my mother living here. The office and nursing staff have been wonderful. Susan, the activities director, plans a lot of engaging crafts, activities and outings to keep them physically and mentally busy. No nursing home will be perfect, that’s the nature of things, but this is the best that I’ve visited.

Staff didn't let me know they didn't have one of his seizure medications and he ended up having 2 mild seizures and 4 grand mal seizures. He ended up in the hospital. Staff was rude the 2 days he was there. Terrible place. Wouldn't recommend.

The Assisted Living Side is good, the Rehab side is horrible and twice have caused more harm than good for my family members. They do not bathe the patients properly, they do not ensure medications are correct, they are careless and negligent. If you have a family member there watch them like a hawk! The administrator there named Elise is useless and avoids addressing issues.Once they find out a family member will hold them accountable they will force the patient out so they don't have to deal with them.

This place is rated wrong. It has a 5 rating and it should be a zero rating. My husband was admitted at5:00 on Friday. He was left in poop and pee all night and morning long. When he used the nurse call button no one would answer it. He hollowed for a nurse and someone came to his door and told him to shut up he was disturbing the other patients. When I got to his room above 2:00 he told me to take him home or he would kill himself if I made him stay another night. I had him discharge and took him home. These people should be sued for patient abuse because that is what it is. He couldn’t do anything for himself he just had brain surgery.

Charlton Place has its ups and downs just like some of the staff. Some are compassionate and consistent when others are just downright lazy and rude. They label the residents and one prime example is my husband is always informed that he isn’t as bad as they say he is. Who is telling the other workers about the residents? They should be letting them know their likes and dislikes. They should get to know them personally and perform their own opinion. Some staff members have attitudes towards the residents. A nursing home is not going to be a bed of roses but at least make the residents feel like they are in a family environment. You should not work with people if you’re not a compassionate person. Another thing - if you’re trying to reach someone at the facility and they look at the caller ID and see a certain name - they will not answer. I’ve had someone walk in the facility and I would call - they looked at the phone and ignored it. It’s bad when you have to directly message administration staff in order to get results. It gets better then it gets worse. Then when you say something about it you’re scared that your family member will be retaliated against. He cannot actually do anything for himself so he depends on them 100%. Do some care?
I’m still stuck on that one after the 2 years he has been there. I’m just glad he has a voice.
THE CNA STAFF ARE FULL OF WORKPLACE BULLIES!!
THEY GO INTO THE RESIDENTS ROOMS WITH ATTITUDES THAT THEY DON'T WANT TO BE THERE. OTHER SUPPORT STAFF ARE SCARED OF THE BULLIES. SOME OF THEM DO NOT ATTEND TO RESIDENTS NEEDS AT ALL. THEY SPREAD RUMORS ABOUT THE RESIDENTS. THEY TELL THE RESIDENTS WHAT THEY ARE NOT GOING TO DO. THEY ARE NOT HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS. RESIDENTS ARE NEGLECTED AS THEY STAND AROUND GOSSIPING AND SMOKING OR JUST DOING NOTHING.

This company truly values their residents. The staff are kind and productive. The environment is welcoming, you can always count on being greeted with a smile when you walk through the door. The rehab department is knowledgeable and works well with the clinical team to meet the needs of each patient. The clinical team works hard to identify barriers in order to ensure there is progress during the patient's stay.
