I truly appreciate my child's primary care physician Dr. Nina Wasson, who has been fantastic and is the reason I drive 35 minutes to the Carmel Valley location, rather than the location that is 10 minutes away from our home. However, I had a frustrating experience with the front desk staff. Despite my child having concerning symptoms, the lead staff member only offered a next-day appointment, which left me feeling unheard. I ended up going to a different location another 20 minutes farther for faster care. I hope this feedback helps improve handling of similar situations in the future.

Dr Nancy Clamentino is insanely incapable to treat children. My son has been having fever and congested nose for 3 days and we brought to a doctor office on Satursday. We didn’t know that she was the doctor on call. We never saw her at this office before.

We waited for 20mins to see her. first the nurse came and took O2 measurement. 10 mins later she came back trying to retake and couldn’t get a measurement. I started having a bad feeling.

The doctor came in and the nurse said the O2 level is 89% but she wasn’t sure because the machine didn’t get a good read. The doctor stood far away from my child and claimed that she heard wheezing sound. she said she would call ems now. she said she didn’t want to get close to my child because she didn’t want to panic him. i never heard of a child pediatrician who would not know how to comfort, examine and care for a child. She made us panic and claimed my child has pneumonia for sure. I cannot understand how can she made that diagnosis since she didn’t examine my child’s breathing and lung. that claim put so much stress on my whole family. My child was crying so much and she left us alone in the office.

When the EMS came they immediately confirmed that my son was breathing normal, oxygen level was 98% and he was in good condition. He were transported to ER and they confirmed that he had perfect breathing, 98% oxygen level and no pneumonia through xray.

She is clearly incapable of dealing with sick children and made wrong diagnosis that causes stress and panic in patients and families. Our whole day is ruined and we are under stress and financial loss.

She should not be allowed to see sick children.

I like the doctors here, but the appointment making system is too terrible. I kept calling the office for two hours, and it never get through. My kid was sick and suffering, but I just couldn't make any appointment. Don't know if I have to go to emergency instead of waiting here.

We used to go to Children's Primary Care clinic and used both, in office and tele-health services, for 2 years. We had over 17 visits between 2 kids. My 2 kids we're prescribed antibiotics at least 8 times for ear/sinus/throat infections over 2 years. One doctor refused to send us to an ENT referral despite our girls having multiple ear infections, several back to back rounds of antibiotics and teachers saying she couldn't hear. Another doctor said we had to come back in for yet another appointment before they would write a referral for in network despite all of this in MyChart.

Issues with this place:
- Doctors have no time to see patients, read history, etc.
- Long wait times (many times I'd wait for an hour or longer in the room)
- You can never see the same doctor for any sick visits even follow-ups
- I would upload details into my chart pre-appointment and they were never read by the doctor or team

We finally got a name of an ENT doctor out-network and he discovered that my girls both had significant temporary hearing loss with ongoing ear infections and should have likely seen an ENT a year ago. My daughter was also being treaded for ADHD and after seeing the ENT we came to learn that she just wasn't sleeping right because her tonsils were so large. None of this was ever even considered at Children's Primary Care group. They missed so much with my girls.

I'd never go back here. This was by far the worst care I've ever seen and experienced. They shouldn't be allowed to accept new patients until they have time to take care of the ones they have.

Horrible experience at this Primary Care. Went in for a very routine and simple physical check and was charged upwards of 400 dollars for 1 kid. Called their financial office and no one answered about the bill. They said it needed to be paid because the insurance denied it. However, upon calling our insurance they denied saying that it was still in progress and that it was not denied. Never coming back.

they telling you to come 10 minutes before and then I wait another 20 in the lobby. And another 15 minutes at the dr room.
So plan an hour plus at the dr
In the morning They will make you wait even longer sometimes I ended there 2+ hours before I’ve seen the dr
Not the kind of service you expect to get from a children Dr .
Long wait hours
Not friendly stuff at the front desk
They don’t care about parents that has other arrangement after the doctor appointment .

That’s what made me leave with my four children
Don’t waste your time with this location…!!!!

I had a great experience here for years with Dr. Tolba. Ever since he left for the Encinitas office my experience with taking my child here has severely declined. First of all, I feel patients are rushed in and out here. It feels like an assembly line. When I presented concerns of anxiety in my son, who was sick at the time, the doctor basically just said, ‘he has a virus.’ The nurse practitioner here was much more caring and took at least a little bit of time to listen. Fast forward several years and my son is sick again. I’m told by the nurse practitioner it’s just a virus again....thankfully I pushed for labwork (I was not offered for him to get labwork) and turns out he has mono, even after I was told he probably does not have mono, based on his symptoms.
After all that, I was told he’ll probably be better in 6 weeks. Wrong. He’s still recovering after 2 months. The part that bothers me the most about this practice is the disorganization/incompetence of how the office is run. I switched my son to my doctor at Sharp (much better) and my doctor requested his lab work from CPMCG several times. She heard nothing from them. I contacted them and was told through My Chart that they would be working on this. Days went by and I finally went in person to the office in Carmel Valley. They tell me that I need to sign a release form!! Helloooo...why didn’t some person with half a brain tell me this the other times I called/emailed through My Chart?!?!
The incompetency and lack of communication is pathetic. My doctor had to wait day and days on end to get lab work for her to assess my son’s mono thoroughly. My dr at Sharp requested to meet with us and she spent 30 MINUTES listening to his symptoms with mono, giving advice, and taking notes! This is what a doctor should be like!
Lastly, a few days ago I get a call from another person at the office, who tells me I signed the release form only over to myself and not to my dr. (This is after my dr. has already received the labwork!) The lack of organization is astounding. I told her I was completely confused, as the lady at the front office had me fill out release forms to myself AND to my doctor and I remember her looking over my paperwork carefully to make sure I did everything correctly.
Oy Vey! I rarely write reviews but I had to let others know. Find another doctor for your child who will take some time to really understand the problem. Find another office with competent employees and organization in place.
