I drove an hour to drop off a specimen to the lab, I called the day before and day of heading out and could not get a hold of anyone. When I arrived at 1:30 the lab was closed at 12pm, if someone in the lab could have picked up I would have gotten the correct info. Unfortunately after driving 1.5hr in traffic they would not accept even a drop off. House sup was called Rachel she said she would meet me but never showed up. I’m really disappointed in the lack of compassion the facility lacks. All it would have took was someone willing to just walk it down to the lab. Nobody answers and I’m sure someone in lab could have accepted it as it is a hospital that runs 24hrs. I am filing a grievance and I’m sad with the lack of empathy. The security guard was more compassionate than the people I encountered.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the care and service provided at CHOC at Mission, which directly impacted my daughter's health and well-being. During our visit, the emergency room failed to address her condition with the urgency it required, which ultimately led to her being admitted to another hospital. Watching my daughter endure unnecessary pain due to the lack of attentiveness was heartbreaking and completely avoidable.

Following this experience, I reached out to the Chief of Staff, only to receive a generic and dismissive response that felt more like a planned script than an effort to address our concerns. This approach was both unhelpful and disrespectful, compounding the frustration of an already distressing situation.

As a parent, I can confidently say I would never entrust my child’s care to CHOC at Mission again. For anyone seeking care for their children, I strongly urge them to consider alternative facilities where compassion and proper medical attention are prioritized.

I hope this feedback is taken seriously and prompts a thorough review of the processes and attitudes within your institution to prevent other families from going through similar experiences.

My son was placed here right after birth. Sometimes you just need to go with your instinct on whats best for you and your baby and not leave it up to people that aren't always looking out for the best interest of your child. I would question alot on how this place is ran and the quality of the nurses. Worst experience ever.

This is, without a doubt, the worst hospital I’ve ever experienced in the United States. Honestly, if I were to compare it to hospitals I’ve visited in third-world countries, CHOC at Mission Hospital would barely rank above average. While some of the nursing staff is kind and attentive, this is overshadowed by an emergency room that is shockingly dirty and disorganized, resembling utter chaos. Their pediatric emergency room is severely understaffed, leaving it incapable of meeting the needs of its young patients.

Prepare to wait for HOURS before even seeing a provider—assuming you do see one. The understaffing and disorganization directly impact the quality of care, resulting in subpar and often delayed treatment. Worse still, critical aspects of care and concerning issues were neglected entirely, slipping through the cracks due to the apparent lack of communication and coordination among the staff. I left this hospital not only disappointed but deeply concerned for anyone forced to rely on this facility for emergency care. CHOC at Mission Hospital is far from a place you can trust with your health or the health of your loved ones.

LAUGHING at a scared parent is disgusting and a disgrace to this hospital. And this state. If I had the name right, Sip? Kip? Something along those lines or the name of the woman who doubled down on the behavior…
As medical professionals you are expected some amount of decorum and bed side manners.

To the man and woman at this hospital who managed to make a scary situation, WAY WORSE… I hope when it all goes around, when life decides to do something to scare you, I hope someone doesn’t laugh at you or minimize you’re concerns. And if they do, I hope you think of us.

Just disgusting.

I wish I could give -0 star. Went there with a horrible infection for my 13 year old daughter and we sat there over an hour despite being the whole room empty. Then thankfully some nurse came out and pushed medication on her throat. We came home and she started throwing up next 2 days. Couldn’t eat anything. We threw away rest of the medication. Few weeks later we ended up with 2000$ bill! Please don’t go there. Go somewhere else. It’s a joke in the name of an emergency care.Never again! Save yourself from misery and sufferings.wish I paid attention to negative reviews before coming here.

BEWARE: MEDICAL BILLING FRAUD. I’ve reported this provider to the Attorney General’s office and you should too, if you’ve been double-billed for the same exact service and/or billed far in excess of any services provided. These scammers are trying to charge $3,500 for checking a child’s temperature 4x, performing a Covid test/ RSV test, and sending an RN into the room for 15minutes. They will triage you at the highest possible ER code, while providing the slowest possible response. And good luck trying to get them to itemize the charges… best path is to go straight to your AG’s office and start an investigation. Put this fraudulent company out of business!

Hands down one of the Best children’s hospitals in Orange County ca.
The Staff has gone above and beyond caring four our daughter who was born at 32 weeks
The NICU is absolutely spotless and the nurses and doctors have explained any and all procedures that were needed. We have had access to our daughter 24/7
They have provided us with meal vouchers, parking validation, labels for breast milk and also a breast pump and storage bottles.
Again its saddening to see such a great hospital with great staff have a average rating.
Six star service **
