I can not give them a low rating as they literally give out free help and even classes. However, I actually have trauma from an event that happened here, and I would not count on anyone there to help you out in a crisis.

I used to be a well known regular attendee at the center. At one time, my psychiatrist tried me out on a medication that caused very severe akathisia and dystonia. I could barely walk and my limbs twisted everywhere.

Did my peers help? The opposite. They RAN from me, then stared while I was going through one of the most traumatic and painful experiences in my life. At one point a worker did approach and say they were there if I wanted to talk. I said yes, and she BOLTED from the room.

For a period of time, I had workers messaging me asking how I was doing. When I would say I was struggling, they would then not respond for days, just to do the same thing a week or so later.

Life can be difficult all on it’s own and when you have a mental health condition(s) it can feel overwhelming. This place is the best resource/location/mental health program to help any individual develop healthy coping skills, enact an action plan or to have a safe space to learn about your condition. I am a huge skeptic on rehabilitation but this program and the staff there showed me that recovery is possible.

If you or anyone you know is struggling with their mental health I would encourage you to give this place a try.

you truly have to appreciate a place that offers free services to the mental health system. however, i have come here while in the middle of a crisis or at least some major setback. whenever i do, i will speak up about it in groups. yet, i will still be offered no support and will for the most part be ignored.

There are very good people that work here. Some are better. Then others. But you can get lots of support. If your dealing with any kind of emotional AR mental illness. God bless them all.
