Diagnosed w Kidney Stone at local hospital. (Medi-cal covered since it was ER room.) Referred to coastal healthcare office for follow up. Call on a Friday for an appointment, set to Tuesday. Their office was unable to validate my insurance, so I reach out to my insurance, Get a direct membership set up to allow any office that accepts Medi-Cal to see me, and wait for a further call back on their preferred referrals. Coastal Healthcare calls me Monday to re-iterate that they can't bill my insurance, I ask them to give me a few hours (this is around lunchtime when offices will be closed) the office assistant replies that they'll cancel the appointment until I call them, and hangs up before I can finish my reply. Didn't ask if I preferred to pay out of pocket, quote me a price for consult, offer low income alternatives, advise on another local office to contact, or really, give me more than 30 seconds of airtime on the phone. I can only assume their motives and context but I've worked in the medical industry, I've seen offices that are patient oriented and others that are... not. I'd rate lower but like you (if you're reading this) I'd done my research and I already had an idea of what I was getting into. No hard feelings, I wish everyone the best, but y'all can do better.

I have NEVER seen.. well if you call 60 seconds no introduction and being accused of being a druggy. Ok everyone is cool I get in and nurse is sweet takes my vitals etx. Then here comes what I guess is God's gift to Urology in his head old Dr. Breton... Pops in and no Hello just straight to making the money. This was the shortest office visit ever and I see many doctors. This guy is hilarious he doesn't even ask me anything just says I need a CT Scan and starts to leave. Old Breton is in the hallway at which point I ask what about my pain as he is walking away. He turns and say YOU ARE NOT IN PAIN... Yeah I am I tell him I took pain meds at noon. He asks what pain med and I proceed to tell him hydrocodone left from my previous kidney stone have had many. THEN immediately gets defensive tells me he does not prescribe that ... ok buddy guess you are useless if you don't prescribe pain meds for kidney stones if you have had a stone pass u know it can be pain level 11.. So this so called Doctor also basically accused me of being a druggie at which point I lost it screamed at him he inhales lots of air and he is a female dog 🐕. I am normally calm but NEVER EVER been treated with the complete lack of respect by a so called professional as this Breton guy. Guess he has issues since I am not the only one he has treated like this. So I am now down in the ER in Watsonville they gave me Hydrocodone to help my pain and getting my scans which I guess I was supposed to suffer .. if he had asked about pain but never did.. Also told him he is scared which is a HUGE issue now Doctors are worried after handing out opioids like candy 🍬. I am still in complete disbelief but happy I have no pain. The office staff and nurses were sweet but we don't go to the Dr. for nurses and this guy your better off finding a more professional Doctor tha actually spends time diagnosing .. he didn't ask anything about anything it was crazzzzy. And was going call the cops.. I am here from Texas and we don't treat customers like this just an arrogant jerk.

June 2021 (still in Covid protocol) they are very careful and Absolutely professional. They do plenty of follow through calls to make sure you are aware of your appointment.
Once you are there inside it's very clean and is ALOT bigger than it appears. The doctor I saw (for my knee) was very thorough and very attentive he listened to everything I had to say and did not leave any questions in unanswered.
By far the experience I had was well above expectations and easily surpasses the five stars I am giving them. If you are referred here, do yourself a favor and make an appointment you will not regret it.
