I recently went in for a mammogram and ultrasound, and was pleasantly surprised by how caring the service was. Karen did a great job making me feel comfortable during my mammogram, and Stephanie did the same during my ultrasound.

The staff provided warmed dressing gowns to wear. The hallways were decorated for Fall. The lighting in the radiology department—whereas regular hospital lighting is usually fluorescent and garish and the opposite of "healing"—was soft, yellow and calming.

The only reason why I'm not giving Confluence a full 5 stars is because of the environment. Most of the building still feels very clinical, cold, corporate and unwelcoming.

But the radiology department defied this fact. The dahlia garden outside is incredible. More moments like this where nature and natural building materials can be integrated would help me choose this medical center over others that I travel quite a distance to just because they make me feel less stressed leading up to my appointment.

Thank you, Confluence Radiology, for exceeding my expectations, and making a procedure I was dreading as painless as possible, and actually borderline enjoyable!

It’s no wonder Direct Care gets such a low rating. The receptionists are absolutely terrible—no eye contact, no warmth, no compassion in their voice, and they can barely speak loud enough to hear. It’s like they’re completely uninterested in being there or in helping anyone. Their lack of basic courtesy is unacceptable. In a place where people come when they’re at their most vulnerable, a simple smile or a shred of empathy would go a long way—but clearly, that’s too much to ask here. I use this location because it’s close to my home.

Dr. Ian McLaren in the Urology department is incredible. He really cares about his patients and goes the extra mile to help them. I really really really appreciate his kindness and his willingness to take really good care of my concerns. He has exceptional bedside manners and is very knowledgeable. I wouldn’t recommend any other urologist besides him. I am so thankful that Samaritin clinics in Moses lake referred me to him.

Each time I’ve visited Confluence Health I have been treated well. Staff are friendly and helpful. I’ve had excellent doctors who often go above and beyond my expectations.

Opinions differ per person and per experience. This experience I am mentioning is a midday scheduled procedure.

My partner had went into get 2 procedures done, and she has severe anxiety. The nurses immediately were and kind and quick. With no hesitation they made sure she was comfortable and secure.

This next reason is why I put 5 stars.

I have MAJOR issues with anxiety due to my autism. Without even mentioning any type of issue, the nurses and receptionists made sure I, alongside my partner, were comfortable. That is the extra mile I was hoping to see. Certain days I can handle public, but with the stress and worry of this procedure it wasn’t an easy day.

Thank you.

I have nothing positive to say. I had an appointment with dermatologist Shannon Sparks that I made and had to wait 6 months to get in as new patient. They call and leave me a voicemail that she is moving her new patients to some random person and they move my apt to her. I called and said I made the apt as i wanted to see Shannon and didn't want the new person. There response is "do you want to cancel" Mind you I would have to wait another six months to try and find someone else. If she is not taking new patients keep the ones you scheduled as you obviously have the slot open. Then on another occasion I wen to see Kurt Haisch who I though was a doctor but only a PA. I had a small cyst that needed to be dissolved. He walks in and before even looking at me states he can't help me. He must have read the nurse's notes. I told him how and what he would need. Still not able to help. I get a $240 bill for NO services rendered. If he knowingly couldn't help me why walk in the room and or why not get someone who could. I have ZERO medical experience and ordered the steroid and did it myself. I disputed the bill and even though he was not able to help me and knowingly still saw they said I still owe the money. Very unethical !

Kindly emergency department staff. Very helpful and understanding. If you have a non-life-threatening emergency, I recommend the Mares hospital instead of Central Washington. The staff at Central are very overrun, and let my Grandma scream in pain in the waiting room for nearly an hour. After she was discharged, she fainted and vomited on herself, and we were told to just take her outside to sit. It seems anytime my family or myself has needed to go to Central, there staff there are too overworked to give proper care. They even have hospital beds in the hallways. I've been to Mares emergency instead 2 times for an issue with a narrowed, hypoplastic transverse sinus in my head, and have been treated with respect and attentive care every time. They are not a trauma response emergency department, but they can handle other issues.

Confluence Health needs new competition. And has for years. Hoping someone opens that door soon. As a life time resident I’ve seen changes. Definitely need other options. Was hoping for Providence. This place cant even give an estimate for new patient visit with new primary. Was placed with a new primary for women who are younger. Got to pay that visit. That doctor recommended I see internal medicine doctor and make that my primary choice. I am 65 and not of child bearing years. She was a nice doctor. Now I call to see how much this appointment will cost with internal medicine first visit for new primary. No one has a clue. Wants to give me codes to have me call Medicare and my supplement. That is what they do. Do they not know a charge? they sure do send the bill., they created. Cancelled the appointment. I cant afford $400 dollars every time I'm placed with a new primary. I have had 4 in the last 3 years.
Still hoping for competition. Who knows maybe community health will have some new methods and be able to do more than in the past. Might be the only option.
