I’ve been going to South Deerfield Family practice for a little over a decade. Initially I was assigned to Joanne Michonski, along with my two young sons. It started off well, but as the visits continued I began to feel judged and spoken down to. We were going through a difficult time and I told her I had concerns around my 3 year old sons off behaviors but she brushed it off. I reached out to other services and shortly thereafter receieved a call from her to scold me for not sharing my concerns-despite my doing so. I told her it wasn’t working out and was assigned to Sean Dacus who I find to be a great listener and receptive to concerns. This was roughly 9 years ago.

Recently, I was experiencing flu symptoms and asked to get in for a sick visit. I was told that Joanne was the only provider in the office with availability. I booked the appointment hoping to simply get tested and given reccomendations for treatment. I recieved a call shortly after to say that she won’t see me and I have been blocked on her panel and to go to the ER or urgent care instead.

For anyone seeking a trauma informed provider or simply one that’s willing to work with you when you have concerns, I’d encourage looking into another pcp rather than going through the same thing I experienced as well as three other former patients I’ve spoke to.

The rest of the staff is friendly. Sometimes the intake can feel rushed and impersonal, but overall everything is timely and accurate.

Was assigned Dr. Marchonski, worst "doctor" ever. Barely attempted to help me in anything, just blaming my weight for everything. The symptoms I had had nothing to do with my weight. Without warning just scolded me telling me I needed to cut calories, I told her that I walked everyday and did martial arts. She got flustered and barked how that wasn't enough. I know I'm on the heavier side but when I go for something like an ear ache and she brings up my weight, doing nothing about what I came for, that's uncalled for and unprofessional.

Jamie Scott is great here. I put off looking for another doctor since my previous doctor at Valley Medical in Amherst was awful. Jamie was the only doctor who had any availability and I had to wait several months to see her but she’s so sweet and empathetic. She’s been nothing but supportive, validating, and genuinely cares about my well being. I didn’t know doctors like her existed. The office itself has a really nice lobby and the medical assistant is a very nice man. Some of the receptionists are not the friendliest but one is very friendly. Their online portal is so thorough and they really keep on top of things. Overall this place is great and Jamie is the best doctor I’ve had. It’s well worth the 20+ minute drive to me.

I have always received high Quality healthcare services here. The staff is helpful and pleasant. The nurses have always called me back asap to make sure all my concerns are addressed. They also provide information regarding what I can do at home until my appointment for my current medical situation. Joanne M. NP always takes time to talk to me and make sure all my medical issues are taken care of. I am very happy I am a patient here.

The receptionists are TERRIBLE. Particularly Ann… I have never heard a receptionist speak to patients the way she does and nothing is ever done to correct this behavior. Carol is slightly better but still unnecessarily rude. As someone who has been a receptionist in the past, if you dislike your job that much, it’s time to find a new one. And shame on the supervisors who have done nothing to discipline these women for their behavior.

Absolutely dreadful receptionist. Was very dismissive and had no knowledge on how to get information from my health records. You can't understand what she is saying 99% of the time and needed to have her repeat herself. Someone please tell her to move the speaker away from her mouth. Told me someone would call me back...never recieved a call. Dr. Dacus is great and always has been

Great family practice! Love my PCP. She always make me feel comfortable and welcome! And always goes above and beyond to get me in! Never a long wait once there. And I’m usually in and out! Problem solved. Lol. This is A GREAT SMALLER, LOCAL FAMILY PRACTICE/FAMILY PCP. Great location, with ample parking. Staff is always very pleasant and helpful. Never had a bad experience.

Honestly I would give this place a 0 star rating Anne or whatever her name is she very rude to new patients!! She sounds very unprofessional and takes a very long time to answer the phone when I know there not busy there. we drive by that place a lot and it looks empty for it to be so busy! But anyways this Anne women shouldn’t have a job no more if she not gonna be nice to new patients and ask 24 questions she not very talkative and makes the phone calls feel very awkward! Cooley Dickinson why do u have unprofessional, rude people working at your company and most definitely lazy people working there who don’t like attending to patients in need ?
