I have been going here for about 4 years. I have been with the same counselor, but a few different psychiatrists. I love how friendly everyone is and how they make me feel welcome. Louri is my absolute favorite. She has been a blessing since day one for me at core health. I adore my counselor and feel without her, I would be so lost. Everything about core health is absolutely wonderful and I would highly recommend core health to anyone seeking this form of care!

Switched therapists without informing me, canceled appointments with little to no notice, doesn't acknowledge anyone at the front desk unless you speak up again and again and again. They'll laugh at you for asking questions. I wouldn't recommend to anyone. This place should not be open especially for mental health support.

Some really amazing counselors, I absolutely love lori Anderson. She is kind and listens. And helps. Most prescribers have been decent, listened didn't change my meds unless we both agreed it was best. The prescribers assistant is ABSOLUTELY fantastic. Lori davenport, she is the kindest person. She trys her best to get meds filled and deal with the pharmacy. Truly amazing. But I had to have a new prescriber today and it was the WORST experience I've ever had with a medical professional. I have not had a major panic attack in over a year because my meds have done really good for me. My counselor agrees, the other prescribers agreed. I had a major panic attack today because of her. This new lady treated me like I was dumb, said there was no way they worked like i said they did because they COULD increase anxiety. And she didn't think I needed a stimulant for adhd. She wanted me to stop them completely today with no warning. She wanted to do gene testing to which I agreed too. But when I asked if we could keep me on the meds that were working she said no, I'll keep you on the anxiety one for now but not the adhd medicine. She didn't want to hear me and completely dismissed diagnoses I've had from an actual psychiatrist since I was 12. She did not care to listen to the fact that I've made so much progress since being on these meds. Because my anxiety isn't all the way gone. Ignoring the fact that I have C-PTSD so my anxiety won't ever be fully gone. And ignored that fact that even my PCP says I have anxiety, depression and ADHD. But because she doesn't think I need the medication I'm on, I don't have it.

Update 10/7/23 ZERO STARS
I would urge anyone who wants to get treated for ADHD, or who is neurodivergent, to steer clear of this organization. I gave them so many chances. After a rocky start I had found some stability and liked my counselor and psych. Then my counselor quit without notice and CORE did nothing to support me. THEY DID NOT EVEN CALL ME TO LET ME KNOW. They did not cancel the appointments I had with her they waited for me to call them to ask why it didn’t happen and then they casually told me, “oh, she doesn’t work for us anymore.” I complained about that but they barely even apologized. Basically instead of giving mental health care they deal out more traumatic experiences.
The next counselor that they put me with was awful, kept telling me that I could not call myself Autistic and wouldn’t believe my self assessment unless I went and got a neuropsych to back it up. So I found a much better therapist online and therefore they would not let me see the psychiatrist anymore because the counselor I am now seeing isn’t employed by them. They don’t employ anyone who has a clue about how to treat people on the spectrum, they have a different focus. If you are not a patient wanting to get treated for their main focus (substance abuse) then this place cannot help you. They might make it worse overall. I have to pay out of pocket but if you cannot afford to I almost think it would be better to not do therapy than to let this organization take you for a ride by dragging you down the road and then look at your injuries and go “oops, but that’s how we work *shrug*
————————

Not a bad experience overall but my advice is, DO NOT let them put you with the Psychiatrist Taunya. Other than that they can be helpful here but you have to self advocate and continue to do so if it doesn’t work the first time.
I like my therapist/counselor. And I really like the psychiatrist I got on the 3rd try. The office staff are sweet and lovely people and were kind to me each time I told them this psychiatrist was not right for me, and after my experience with Taunya they encouraged me to fill out a grievance form and the manager sat down with me to talk about it. So the damage control was adequate.

Reading the book What my Bones Know, I found a passage about one of the counselors that the author fired after a single session and it just triggered my memory of my session with Taunya.
“He barely listened to a word I said. He talked twice as much as I did and kept interrupting me…”
“I spent the next two months trying to recover from being lambasted by his pathologies and shouting them at myself in quiet moments.”
Yeah lol. That is what Taunya was like. I told her she and my therapist were in disagreement about my diagnosis and she responded, “well I have a medical degree so I know.” As well as a few other key phrases that echo in my mind. I have filled out multiple grievance forms about it so this is my public one I guess.

The second psychiatrist I saw said she wanted me to get an EKG before she put me on medication but would not send an order to my doctor for it despite my calling back to ask for that multiple times.

I am now finally being treated by a third psychiatrist who actually listens to me and it’s going well. She has in fact diagnosed me and given me medication for the same thing that my therapist and I both feel is the correct diagnosis. So I’d say 3.5 stars or 7/10 but 4 stars is close enough.

These are keep denying my mom her help and medications. They make her jump through hoops Every single time she needs to refill her prescriptions for depression. They asked her this week if she could just quit cold turkey because they didn't want to do their job! Sickening. Stop advertising up help people!

If anyone needs MH services, I don’t suggest this place. It’s awful. They never call you back, you have to keep harping and begging for help all the time, their receptionist is rude, and if you complain about how your being treated, they brow beat you and punish you by taking away your counselor and moving you out of their office. So don’t bother writing a grievance. They’ll make you pay for it. Their only redeeming quality is they have a counselor named Vicky and a receptionist named Austin who are truly caring individuals and not just there to collect a check. The only reason I give this place 1 star is because I have to in order to post a review. It’s essentially the poorest excuse for a mental health center I’ve ever seen.

Not worth your time. Horrible place for Mental Health services, especially therapy. You'll be better off finding another place to get help from.
Definitely don't work with a therapist named Kylie. She just made everything worse for me and wasn't a good therapist at all for multiple different reasons.
