Courtyard Care Center is perfect for my mother. It is small & in a quiet neighborhood. The staff are very friendly & they take very good care of all their patients.

My mom was at Courtyard from July 2024 until November 2024 when she passed…I could not have picked a better place for her! The staff is above and beyond amazing. I can’t say enough about the nurses my mom had and even she said they were amazing. EVERYONE… CNAs, PT, RNs, office staff, LVNs… treated her with so much love and care. I would recommend Courtyard to anyone and everyone. The social worker, Maria, went above and beyond her job…I can’t thank her enough! I wish I could remember all the different CNAs names but the ones that cared for my mom were amazing. My mom had been in two other nursing homes in the past (different reasons) and she told me several times that Courtyard was the best, I also thought the same! I did my research before sending my mom to Courtyard, I read 100s of reviews on google and yelp…no nursing home is perfect bc there is never enough money to pay the staff what they actually deserve and not enough big hearted staff to be fully staffed. To me the people that work there deserve to get paid $100/hour because they made my mom comfortable and happy! Also, my mom was a CNA for 15 years at other SNFs and then at Torrance memorial so she knew what good care was and was very critical of how CNAs did their job, so accolades from her were not easily handed out!

I apologize for my thoughts being all over the place as my mom just passed a week ago (absolutely no fault or relation to Courtyard) and I just had a baby so my mind is not functioning normally.

Trying really hard not to be judgmental here but to some of the bad reviews… never leave a loved one anywhere without checking on them frequently! The squeaky wheel gets the grease = true! My mom was very well cared for AND I was there often, communicating with staff often AND my mom treated everyone with respect! I know life is not easy but Im an only child (so the only visitor), teach full time, have two young kids, and was pregnant while my mom was at Courtyard but I still stayed in communication with Courtyard and her care team.

All the staff are awesome. From the CNA’s to RN’s and the kitchen employees, front desk, custodial and everyone. The facility is always clean. We are lucky to find this hidden gemfor our father. Thank you Courtyard Care for taking care of our Dad with dignity and respect.

This place was an absolute nightmare. The only good thing about this place was their physical therapy department specifically Shelly and Celina. The last straw was me having to stop by in the evening, I walked in to see a group of workers just talking not working and the place smelled like marijuana

The facility is very clean and smells fresh. It is bright and welcoming. There are many activities available for everyone. The outside courtyard area sets this facility apart from all of the others. There is grass, trees (avocado, grapefruit, etc.). It is very comfortable and peaceful. The grounds are very well maintained. The staff are very friendly, helpful and are very professional. The administrator and staff are very involved with patient care. The food was adequate. The physical/occupational therapy was excellent. I highly recommend Courtyard Care Center in Signal Hill.

Teddy, the director of nurses, is amazing!!!! He stayed 3 hours past his shift to wait for my mother to arrive and be processed into the facility. He answered all our questions and was very professional and helpful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I feel they go above and beyond to keep my sister and I updated with my mother's care.

When I got there I was greeted by the front desk staff with a smile. I felt very welcome. Great customer service. There was no odor in the facility. I've been to several care facilities, but the room visited gave a home feel. The chairs were cushioned which gave me comfort. Most of all and more importantly my friend really likes it.

It saddens me that I have to write this review. When I had first came to see my father I witnessed the staff and everyone being very friendly and helpful. He was complaining about pain and said that he had been waiting for a doctor to come see him for two days. I honestly didn’t think much of it and figured that he would’ve received proper care at an appropriate time based off what I had witnessed. Two days later I get a call, saying that he had to be rushed to the hospital because he was unconscious. When I arrived at the ER I was told he was being admitted and will be in the icu department. After being in courtyard for 6 days he was dehydrated, and had a uti from a catheter that was “reinserted”? I then came to speak to administrator Jonah Bagsic which then told me that he didn’t have symptoms of dehydration, or a uti while he was receiving care from courtyard. Please if your loved ones are here, check with them regularly.
