My son has been with Crownview for eight months and they have done an excellent job with him. He is a very, very tough case and you never know what will bring tomorrow but so far he has made a significant comeback. The staff are responsive and care about families - the opposite of many hospitals. They do not have problems responding at odd hours/days. I am a hard person to please (skeptic who has seen it all) and my experience with them has been excellent. My son came here a year ago and did well for a few months. I was very impressed with the support and communication from the team.
Then he had a few hurdles and was moved up to Residential which meant a new house, new team, new therapist and new case mgr. My son does not do well with changes as most people with SMI. So followed adverse behaviors and a medication change.
After a verbal threat to a Staff member my son was sent to the hospital to stabilize. What was shocking is he was kicked out after 3 1/2 months of decent steady progress. Just a month prior CPI Team wanted to step him down to Semi Independent Living. Now he’s being thrown out after an outburst at a staff member. What has made it worse is I was told if he spends a few months trying another Residential Program he can be reconsidered for the program at Crownview again. That ended up being a complete lie.
Case Managers, myself and my son have made several attempts to reach out through email or phone and either a flat ‘no’ or zero response. The only thing I can imagine is my insurance does not reimburse enough and / or my son’s behavior is too much to handle.
While he had behavioral issues they were not any worse than other clients. There was no substance and he was med compliant. My son’s progress was cut short by Crownview and he was cheated out of completing his recovery. Very disappointing with how they handled this.

When I first arrived at CPI crownview I went in being a little resistant reasonably so, new environment, new people (staff). They welcomed me and were very accommodating so I could feel as comfortable as possible. My journey began, going to groups having acupuncture weekly true blessing. Then they had some facilitators that are very passionate about the teaching coping skills and strategies to shift our mindset that's a games changer. If you truly want your life to be enriched and to not be bond by chains that weighed us down by not knowing how to manage our diagnosis, what you put into your life's work is what you'll get out of this program. I've gone through all the phases and each one has been a wonderful experience you can make friends go on fun outing gain individual personal free time and eventually you end up in ESL this is were with structure you get to live the life you see for yourself. Let me tell all along the way you have the staff here for your support, did I mention the part where it becomes your time to graduate I just had the honor to reach that part of my goal and it yours no one can take that away from you all your hard work is commenced with a everyone who you worked with behind you cheering you on. It's been the best experience I've ever had to give time to get my life where I can continue the journey ongoing.

Crown view gave me my life back, a bunch of new friends and a new perspective on my life. I will forever be indebted to crown view for helping me so so much. If you or your loved one is struggling I couldn’t recommend this place more. It is a safe place to heal and grow.

I am pleased to share that Crownview Co-Occurring Institute (CCI) and Experience Structured Living (ESL) gave us our son back. For several years, a heavy cannabis addiction severely exacerbated his schizo-affective disorder. After a 5150/5250/5270, we were able to get him to CCI where he participated in PHP, then IOP, and then, since he had improved, OP care. He improved a lot with intensive drug therapy under close psychiatric and medical supervision. The individual and group therapy sessions helped him get back on track towards getting his life back. The psychologists there were compassionate and caring and engaged with him from the first days. The case managers were all very supportive in their oversight and coaching. The housing is modest, but clean and comfortable.

ESL is the mental health OP housing connected to CCI, so our son was able to transition seamlessly to sober living with enough continuity of care and environment that it was not disruptive at all. The support staff there continued to work with him to remain compliant with his medication and sobriety while helping him find and keep a part-time job and do volunteer work locally. He has now been sober and compliant for 15 months. He is again good company and welcome in our home. He is on his way to successful independence. I recommend CCI and ESL very highly for the wonderful work they do.

Crownview is the type of place that welcomes you from various approaches, narrowing it down to an exact fit. Crownview is the place where, no matter who you are and what you do for a living, you feel as if you are exactly where you need to be. Crownview is a place that will mold itself around you until they know your patterns better than yourself.

The notion that how much you put in is what you get out is not defined here. They go above and beyond that. Crownview is better described as...how much you want to grow and change; it is a matter of how much you are ready to let go of your old narrative.

This is the place. They take the time. And they sometimes have to make hard decisions, but always with the awareness of everyone in mind.

And, if I know anything... I know that they try over and over. Despite mistakes, despite push and pull, and despite the lifelong convincing that nobody else cares.

So like medicaid is way better for rehab but like this place is alright I guess. Some clients started kind of stalking me when they were homeless... late on my prescriptions a lot and I had to pay copays. Alot of the copays expensive kept me poor and there for longer... I never even go there or go back there. Anything they reply is just like whatever at this point.

My overall experience bypassed a lot of my expectations. I reached out, was called immediately and all my questions were answered. The staff shows genuine compassion for clients. I felt safe, as if I was at home getting the treatment. All of my needs were met. I'm beyond grateful for the experience and the help to a better life.
