I rarely write reviews, but seeing these past reviews of Dr. Caswell has prompted me to write one. We have had a wonderful experience as patients of Dr. Caswell.

We met Dr. Caswell in 2015 when we moved from out of state and my oldest was about 1.5 year old. We now have 4 kids. She has seen us through the addition of twins, a Christmas emergency RSV case that involved a helicopter ride to Riley, the diagnosis of diabetes with my son who was in DKA (also of course, not during normal business hours), another autoimmune disease in another child (which we were afraid could have been a tumor), and other random craziness that comes with 4 little kids. Through it all, she has been kind, caring, accessible, and an advocate for us to get the care we need while considering our wishes.

While Dr. Caswell is our primary provider, I think we have seen all of the doctors at least once for sick visits, etc and have always had a good experience. If you are looking for a pediatrician's office, I would not hesitate to recommend this office.

So disappointed. I signed up for a DR who is on maternity leave so they’ve thrown us to random doctors, including Caswell. She tried insisting on Thursday that I vaccinate my son who is already showing flu-like symptoms. I found the courage to say no and the next day, we had to leave work early because he threw up with an abnormal smell and had an awful diarrhea. Good thing I didn’t vaccinate him, no thanks to her. I will definitely be finding a new office for my precious son. He’s worth more than checking off a box. She tried threatening my own job against me! “Better get it scheduled before they get frustrated with you”. How about when we are ready! Or never! It’s my choice to make as his mother! Her nurse is amazing but Caswell was so unloving, I am disgusted!!!

I seldom write reviews for anything, but I'm hoping that sharing my experience will provide some useful insight. My children are former patients of a provider that’s no longer with Danville Pediatrics, so after her departure, we were reassigned to Dr. Jennifer Caswell. My first experience with her was after the birth of my son and unfortunately, each encounter thereafter was an equally lousy, frustrating experience.

My son struggled to gain weight appropriately, seemingly due to drowsiness associated with jaundice. Over the first 3-weeks of his birth, I had more than (6) weight check visits, (2) visits to the lab for bilirubin draws, and (3) visits to Latch Hour. The lactation nurse assured me there was no issue with my son's latch, my positioning, etc. I meticulously recorded the start/end time of every feed and each wet/soiled diaper. I asked repeatedly about a light therapy or a bilirubin or blanket and continued to explain to Dr. Caswell that my greatest challenge with breastfeeding was keeping my son awake and alert since he was so drowsy. Despite increasing bilirubin values and insufficient weight gain, Dr. Caswell remained adamant that a bilirubin blanket was unnecessary. I reiterated that I had exclusively breastfed my other children without issue, but my concerns and frustration were consistently dismissed. Her recommendation was to supplement with formula, achieve a gain of X ounces before the next appointment (2-3 days later), or she would need to admit him to the hospital. For each weight check, I was billed for a regular office visit despite the fact that a Medical Assistant completed the weight check and Dr. Caswell offered no additional guidance or intervention, aside from continually referring me back to Latch Hour or recommending supplementing with formula. I routinely sat in the exam room waiting for Dr. Caswell for 30+ minutes, only for her to come in, acknowledge that although he gained weight, it wasn't enough. I sought a second opinion from another provider, who assured me his weight gain was typical of a breastfed baby and not cause for concern. Later on, Dr. Caswell referred my son out for a developmental delay. When I was contacted by First Steps regarding the appointment to evaluate him, the woman remarked, "I'm not sure why she referred you to us. We don't actually evaluate that until X months of age. It isn’t considered a delay based on his current age.“ Dr. Caswell continued to note in his chart, "Will RE-REFER back to First Steps for developmental delay.” Still unclear on what “developmental delay” she was referring to since First Steps wasn’t even certain why he was referred to them?

We had concerns regarding our youngest daughter and against my better judgment, I took her in to see Dr. Caswell, although I was already apprehensive about her clinical judgment by this point. In preparation of the appointment, my husband and I completed a considerably lengthy questionnaire. We both attended the appointment and that was the final straw. The advice I received.... A book recommendation, another questionnaire, and another appointment. Oh, and of course, ANOTHER medical bill & no purposeful guidance or resolve.

I can’t speak for other providers at Danville Pediatrics, but I can definitively say that I would have saved myself oodles of time, money, and grief if I had simply opted to switch pediatricians after the first red flag. I understand that patients can be unreasonable at times, just as some doctors can be condescending and rigid. Be willing to explore alternate solutions when your proposed recommendations are repeatedly ineffective. Not all patients are going to present as textbook cases and care should be individualized and specific to the patient.

Highly don’t recommend especially with children that have sensory delays, disabilities or a general fear of doctor offices. DON’T TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE!

While my son was in the NICU, our original choice of pediatrician stopped accepting new patients, so we had to call around and find a pediatrician who was and I’m so thankful we found Dr. Hayden! She’s seriously amazing. Our first visit, she came in and knew everything my son had been through in the NICU and actually had a full discussion with me about how I was doing, not just my son. The nurses are great about quickly responding to MyChart messages and returning phone calls and the doctors we have met when Dr. Hayden has been out have all been great as well!

I cannot rave enough about the staff here. We have been going to this office for almost 4 years now and we love everyone. My boys love coming to the doctor and solely look forward to going every time just to see Claire. This office holds a special place for me and my boys!

My daughter was born 11 weeks premature and has been going to Danville Pediatrics since she was sent home from the NICU after a long, difficult 83 day stay. My daughter was sent home on an NG feeding tube and monitors. The day after coming home we went to see Dr. Williams for her first appointment. The staff was very welcoming and kind. Dr. Williams had already prepared for our appointment by reading my daughters entire medical file and discharge summary the night before. She had a care plan ready for us and she instantly put us at ease. 6 Months later... my daughter is off her feeding tube, happy, healthy and thriving. Everyone at the office knows her by name and is so helpful every time I call. I would highly recommend Danville Pediatrics and Dr. Williams.

They are absolutely amazing, I have 3 children seen by Dr Caswell and she is so friendly and great with the kids. Anytime I've called the office the receptionist and nurses are friendly and helpful. Great place to have your kids seen.
