My expectations with primary care providers is very low but I was pleasantly surprised by Dr. Nilmeier. He provided excellent care, listen, and asked questions. Josie was also very nice and compassionate. She was quick taking my vitals and getting me ready for the doctor. I checked in online and had a minimal wait time once I got to the clinic. The receptionist was friendly and offered to call me when it was my turn if I wanted to step out. My first time at Doctors on Duty was a great experience! 👍🏻

Finding primary care on the Monterey Peninsula is challenging. Seems like all the doctors have gone concierge. That makes it difficult for healthy individuals to get primary care without the high cost of a concierge doctor. Anytime I had a need for urgent care in the past I went to Doctors On Duty. I’d always received excellent care. Last year I turned to Doctors On Duty for my primary care and the service and care have all been top notch.

I parked for free on the street and walked in as a new patient yesterday. My wait was under an hour and I was given notification throughout my wait time so I could walk around the downtown area where the office is located. Dr. Kaitlyn listened to and comprehensively addressed all of my health needs, providing me prescription refills and referrals then and there. I even had lab work done at their in office lab immediately after my appointment. When I passed out during the bloodwork, every doctor checked in on me as two nurses stayed with me holding the ice pack, smelling salts, apple juice boxes and granola bars for me until I recovered. Their staff proved highly capable and compassionate.

I’ve been going to Doctors on duty for my physical health now for years. I have had very good experiences with all of the providers that have taken care of me. Doctor Satyanarayans is an exceptionally good doctor. He has been very kind to me and has made my visits at Doctors on duty something I’ve looked forward to. He is very professional and always knows just the newest and best medicines to give. In my case, I’ve been trying to get my weight under control for years and just like that, he put me on one of the weight loss medications that have been helping so many people. Starting out slow, to make sure I had no bad side effects and building the dose up to the right level so I was able to get my weight down to a healthy level while bringing down my blood pressure and cholesterol at the same time. I USUALLY have great experiences here but my last left my in tears. Nothing like a doctor steamrolling you and not letting you ask a question. I finally had to raise my voice and forcefully ell him that I am nursing a baby and was nervous about the side effects of the medications on my baby and he then told me my baby could have " growth issues"....which turns out wasn't even an appropriate response to the dosage I would be taking. It was like he had never treated a breastfeeding mom before, or took the time to hear a woman speak.

Anyways, I was so exhausted and sick that I started crying which he ignored and then left the room. I won't see him again and will try not to go there again because of him.

I love the front desk staff and medical assistants but the doctor was like a bad stereotype of a male doctor who treats women like idiots.

The doctors who ended up here are generally very arrogant and obstinate. They either give me a hard time and try to put me down, or refuse service all together. My 3rd bad experience here.

I just needed a refill on a non-controlled sleep med and they said no and didn’t provide an explanation or come tell me to my face. They didn’t even ask me my current medications. Sent me home to get sleep deprivation induced psychosis.

Luckily I found an old dusty bottle just now.

Your guys lack of social skills and care is detrimental to people’s trust in medicine, and decreases their likelihood of seeking care before conditions worsen.

If anyone is reading this, just remember that Doctors are service workers, more akin to a McDonald’s employee than a scientist. Please don’t become anti-medicine or anti-science because of a few bad eggs.

I feel really good about Doctors on Duty. Yesterday was my third visit there, twice to see a nurse practitioner, once just for information. While I was there yesterday I was struck by the efficiency and friendliness of all the employees, including Mallory the nurse and all the nurses who asked the questions and took the tests. I'm very pleased that I can see all the specialists I need to see, including the dermatologist and podiatrist, as well as my primary, at this one convenient facility.

I went to Doctors on Duty while visiting Monterey for work. After registering, they gave me the wait time and said that I could leave and they would text and call within 20-30min of the time that the doctor would see me. I was able to leave (and not sit in a waiting room!). Sure enough, I got a text and a call and was in the exam room as soon as I arrived. Dr. Nilmeier came in within minutes. We had a quick exam and I was on my way with my meds being called into a nearby pharmacy. The office staff was professional and cheerful. The office was clean and the waiting area was well spaced out with masks and tissues available as well as having emergency meds clearly labeled and free for overdose patients. If I lived here, I would use this office as my urgent care.
