Doctor Tucker has been my primary care physician for a long time ( good guy ) but because he works for sturdy memorial hospital his practice has gone down hill.
I hurt my ankle and went to see him but he was unavailable and I saw a nurse practitioner. She said that it looks like I had a severe sprain and would require an air cast and boot. When the nurse practitioner tried to locate one she could not find them but instead tried fitting me with a brace that did not work out so she pulled it off. It didn't fit right and was slightly used.
She then turned to me and said maybe I should just stop and get an ace bandage at the store. What?! Isn't that the reason I came in to see the doctor? To check it out and get it fixed? Well apparently since AA medical went out of business ( sturdy memorial supplier) they do not stock supplies as much anymore, according to the practice manager.
So she then told me that she would forward the prescription to a medical supply place where it would be covered but to no avail they wanted to charge close to $300 out of my pocket for the items.
I called the hospital to lodge a complaint and the person who oversees all outside practices and claimed to be the CEO said that I am responsible for the item even though they were willing to give it to me at the doctor's office but ran out. She was very rude and snotty and kept on interrupting me and told me that I was talking over her. Problem is she looks at everything behind a desk instead of the real world and just looking to save the hospital money.
Come to find out that they have the ability to bill it out differently from the Doctor's office but if I pick it up directly I would pay out of pocket. Gee thank you sturdy memorial associates!
I am switching primary care physicians because of the lack of ability to complete their job as a medical office. Instead they try to get you in-and-out as quick as possible and leave the rest up to you
