I NEVER LEAVE REVIEWS BUT…Dr. Mike and all of the nurses were absolutely incredible. After a month with a kidney infection and 2 stents, it’s safe to say I was really uncomfortable and in quite a bit of pain. My urologist is on vacation for another 2 weeks but I needed relief, like NOW. Dr. Mike and his nurses immediately made me feel seen and heard. They were super quick with all of my labs and test results and made sure I was as comfortable as possible throughout my visit. Dr. Mike was super helpful with giving me a whole list of other urologists to get me in asap for stent removal. He even called me a few days afterwards to personally ask how I was feeling and if I had any luck finding a urologist who could see me. Patient care was 10/10 and their bedside manner was 12/10. Absolutely amazing!

The billing department was a nightmare to navigate. Despite multiple requests, obtaining accurate and detailed billing information proved to be a nearly impossible task.

The hospital’s practices regarding patient consent were equally concerning. Staff would present pre-filled forms in illegible handwriting, often without providing adequate time for review. They would then wait impatiently for signatures, creating a stressful environment that hindered the patient experience.

I strongly advise future patients to be vigilant and assertive in protecting their rights. Always insist on reviewing any documents before signing, and be prepared to advocate for clear and timely billing information. No itemized bill was provided over a month after service was rendered.

Extremely rude Registrar. Walked into the room before the doctors had even finished treating my partner and basically shouted at us that we owe a $500 copay. The check in desk wouldn’t confirm if our insurance was in network. We were sent there for a swollen digit by the Dignity Health Urgent Care. They rushed us into the ER claiming my partner needed a surgery. After 3 hours of waiting and one X ray the ER doctor’s assessment was this is just a bruise. He made us ask for antibiotics saying it might be an infection but up to you. How broken does the medical system have to be here?

Edit: We went to the UCSF PCP 3 days later and she confirmed it was an infection. Had we left it up to the ER doctor we would have walked out without receiving the care required just letting the infection worsen.

If the administrative team wants to talk why don’t you start by sharing a meaningful response to this review instead of the same copy paste reply that convinces me it’s worth risking more time on your team.

Came here last night with severe heartburn and back pain, within minutes I was put in a room. Everyone was so nice and showed true kindness. I met with the doctor and he went over the game plan and talked me through each step. I was given meds and sent home! This morning was the first dose and I already feel at least 20x better! Thank you!

The staff and security were friendly upon my arrival to the ER. I was constantly being checked on. I did not wait since there was only one other person in the waiting room. I arrived around 9:30a and stayed in the hospital for about 2 hours, left around 11:3a. I was not rushed or unheard when explains my symptoms which made me feel more secure about choosing Sequoia Hospital. The building is a little outdated but other then that, the service provided to me was great!

Experience was okay. Was there for an emergency case at midnight. Everyone was so kind and understanding and when everything went well, there had to be that one guy at the end to ruin it for everyone. Old Black Nurse guy with white hair on 3rd floor on a reception like desk where all other nurses sit, I asked him we are ready for getting discharged then he was like call the button and then he called himself. Then guy rudely asks me to get the car at the main entrance. It was first time I told him several times and I said him we came from the Emergency department side but he would not listen and just keep yelling get the car at main entrance. I was lost earlier as well trying to find the main Lobby where my car was parked and the main entrance he was talking about. When I told him about the situation he was all again, Idc bring the car at main entrance and he said go to the Lobby L when I went there looking around almost 10 minutes and could not find the Emergency Department side, the lady from the Information centre literally walked me through to the place from where I entered. I don’t understand how can someone be a Nurse or patient assistant when he has no sense of being calm or how to handle the situation. Even after telling multiple times that it is my first time and I already got lost early in the morning. To be honest that guy does not even deserve the job to be Nurse. Others were great by the way. But the rude behavior by that one idiot is totally unacceptable.

Terrible experience we've had. Took my client for ER for not having a bowel movement for 10 days. We arrived at 3:30pm and we were only seen at 6 15pm.
Then we had to wait untill 8pm for the X ray result for the doctor to tell us. I will not recommend this place. Definitely not a good place to be if you have emergencies. You're already dead before they see you and assist you. (Life and death situation)

Was advised to go to the ER after going to urgent care. Went to the ER for entire body aches and trouble breathing. Staff was friendly and attentive, however was discharged without any guidance. Was very confused as to what I was supposed to do once discharged for my issue.
