Shield MRI scheduled me for an MRI here and I had to wait for over an hour to be seen, on a weekend. The front desk told me they didn't schedule enough time for the procedure for the person ahead of me, so their scheduling desk really needs to update their procedures so people don't wait so long.

This review is specifically about the “lab” here. Honestly it is catastrophically bad. Chronic understaffing and generalized confusion in the part of patients and the staff lead to very frequent congestion and delays that will measure in the hours. All to get 5 minutes of a blood pull done.

It’s so insane it is almost unexplainable. I am sure the staff is trying but the real blame lies with some Emerson executive somewhere penny pinching at the cost of all of our time and energy. I also find this generally happening throughout their network particularly also at the hospital in concord. Something is amiss with this entire organization.

This place is awful ! The wait is sooo long over an hour to get bloodwork. People getting tests and procedures waiting in same line as bloodwork. The staff is unprofessional and not complying by hippa at all. Calling out people’s names and you can hear everything about everyone else including date of birth insurance etc. The set up needs to change to provide privacy. The staff is overworked and state it and act it. Patients coming in and no type of structure and everyone confused about how the system works but it actually doesn’t work!

I just want to give credit to my ultrasound tech I think her name was Vanessa- I came in this morning so anxious and nervous about possible medical complications and she was the sweetest calming presence. It was like talking to a friend. I wish the medical world had more of her, and she deserves recognition

I recently had an excellent experience with Beth at Emerson Ultrasound in Westford. My test was done quickly and the results were exactly what we needed. Beth is not only professional and knowledgeable but she is kind, caring but also makes the patient feel comfortable. Emerson you are lucky to have Beth in your employ.

People really love complaining these days..
This place is great. Nice, clean facility, the doctors are top notch, the nurses are super nice and knowledgeable and when I had bloodwork done downstairs, I was in and out in 10 min, and the nurse who performed the blood work was extremely kind and compassionate.

MRI was also a breeze with Shield. Wasn’t a huge fan of my previous doc, but he moved on, and it’s clear now that it was a him problem, not an issue with the establishment. My new doc is great and I’m glad I stuck with them.

This review address my experience with the staff that check you in. I did not have an issue with the lab employees. My experience is from 3/19/24.

I went to this location for bloodwork. You sign in leaving using your first name and the first letter of your last name for privacy concerns which makes perfect sense. I’m called by Lynn W. to her window so she can gather information that she needs. This is where the issues start. Lynn W. asks why I’m there and I state why. Then she asks me for my last name. I start to spell it and she stops me, and asks if “I have ID because there are to many letters in my last name.” First off, I’m not in an enclosed office. Everyone in the waiting room can hear my answers to her questions. So much for confidentiality. Not Lynn W’s fault. But I wasn’t aware that there was a limit to the amount of letters one could have in their last name. Her statement was made to put me down. Ridicule my ancestry. Of course, when I called Lynn W. out on this she tried to back track and minimize what she said. I’ve encountered teenagers who work customer service that have treated me better. My take away is that the Emerson Health Lab in Westford doesn’t like people of Eastern European descent. I’ll be talking to my doctors about my experience.

Dr. Thomas was incredible, her bedside manner is flawless, she made me feel comfortable the entire time and safe. She prioritized my wants and needs and brought my baby girl into this world safe and sound.
