I wrote a review about this delivery unit in the main hospital page but now that I am pregnant with my third child i am going to write it to the actual delivery unit page because I literally have anxiety every time I get pregnant because of the traumatic experience of the delivery of my first child. It was March 13 2023 when I experienced the worst treatment from the nurses at this delivery unit. The lack of compassion and attention I received is beyond my understanding. I will forever be traumatized to have another baby at any hospital because of the poor service I got on March 13 2023. Not only was I left in a dark room while the nurses told me to be quiet because I wasn't delivering yet but I went from having 1 cm dilation to 9 cm dilation in one hour. A nurse came to check me at 3 or 4 am and stated I was at 1 cm and then an hour later 2 nurses came in to check and one nurse stated I was at 9 cm dilation and the other nurse didn't believe her so decided to do her own check just to verify. (Do any of these nurses know how much it hurts when you check while you are having delivery pains). That's when they start rushing and FINALLY called my doctor. One of the nurses forced my husband to get me out of bed to pee. It was the most painful experience to walk to the restroom at this time because it felt like my baby was going to come out. Of course I didn't pee at all. My husband put me back into the bed. Then a few nurses came back into the room and told me I had to push the baby out. One nurse even had her hands inside my vagina because she was trying to take the baby out. That's when my doctor came in and asked what they were doing and the fact that the baby wasn't going to come out because my bladder was full. My baby also had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck which the nurses didn't even know about. My left hand was also swollen from them putting the machine that read my blood pressure and the IV on the same arm. I was neglected by these nurses who you depend on their care when you are most vulnerable. I was so weak after my delivering, I felt exhausted that I didn't know how to speak everything that happened to me into words even when others would ask me about my experience. I am forever traumatized by the lack of care and compassion I received on my first delivery of my first baby. I will forever remember this. I am blessed for my doctor that delivered my baby safely and now she is 2 years old but everytime I get pregnant I don't enjoy it anymore because I get panic attacks of where I am going to deliver this baby because I have lack of trust with any hospital. I lost my second child and hoping with my 3rd pregnancy that God helps me find a good place to deliver because God knows how much I freak out to even think of going through something like this again. Hours and hours of agony because not one nurse took the time to be attentive of what I was telling them. Thank you for being the worst memory of my first born. And no I don't want to take to any of your staff who tries to call to get me repeat myself. I will definitely be speaking to my insurance provider once I know my third baby will be okay.

Jenny S. Was super supportive and caring for my lady. To my surprise she gave a ball to my lady to sit to help with the delivery of our upcoming newborn. Her support to my lady meant the world to me and her kindness was wholesome.

I have 4yrs owing this review to St. Mary's. I had my baby boy there and it was such a wonderful experience. From start to finish the nurses where just amazing, heroes really. I had my own room, privacy, treated as soon as I wobbled in. Even that needle that went into my hand for the IV didn't hurt. And I am terrified of needles. One nurse did take care of me the most, her name was Barbara or Barbie... older blonde woman. She kept me comfortable, clean and she was on top of my pregnancy. She got me to push until my son's head was in view for the dr to take over.. She was a blessing, she will be in My heart forever. I was homeless at the time, and they even let me stay 1 more day. It was a blessing overall. Thank you St. Mary's your team is amazing and I wish you all the best.
