Visiting a doctors office is rarely something to look forward to. This, my first visit, was very pleasant, even though I was not looking forward it. The doctor, nurse, and staff were all very kind, accommodating, and professional. At 53, married, and with two adult children, I’ve had my fair share of visits to doctor’s office’s. Doctor Nallamothu at the Vermeil Clinic in Calistoga, CA, along with his nurse and staff are ranked firmly in my top three of all time (or at least 53 years). Having said that, I’m convinced, you may match their level of caring and service, but you will likely do no better. The Vermeil clinic is about an hour away from my home, and I can honestly say that they were worth the drive.

My PCP is out of the office and I saw FNP Matt. Very happy with the knowledge he had of my pretty complex medical history. He heard what I was saying and base treatment on his medical skills and what I needed for me.

I became a new patient here, went in, did my labs, and was told to come back in 3 months for my next one. I'm diabetic, so I'm on a 3-6 month schedule, which is standard. About a month after my initial appointment, I get a phone call telling me that unless I make a second appointment immediately, they are going to refuse to fill any of my insulin prescriptions. If you need me to come back earlier than we initially discussed, fine, just let me know and I'll come back early. But using my insulin as leverage to get me to do that, out of the blue without any advance warning? That's absolutely unethical. I'm pretty sure it breaks some laws too. In 20+ years of being diabetic, I've never had a doctor refuse to fill an insulin prescription (I'll die without it) or seen behavior like this.

Incompetent. Saw her for a knee issue and she got it mixed up had me scheduled with an orthopedic surge and wrote down left shoulder. Her office cancelled numerous appointments and would never return my phone calls!
