Considerations Based on Reviews

For those considering seeking treatment at Fuller Hospital, it's crucial to weigh these points alongside the clinic's strengths. The facility's commitment to accessibility and its specialized mental health programs are significant advantages. However, potential patients and their families should also consider the need for robust follow-up support, especially in urgent cases.

Fuller has the appropriate therapeutic programs to help adolescents. The partial hospitalization is exactly what was needed in a time of crisis. The clinicians are knowledgeable and caring. My criticism is there was minimal follow-up from the psychiatrists regarding meds. and ZERO follow-up from the psychiatrists after they sent my child in an ambulance to the ER.

I was a patient here at the partial program and i would say it is not a great place to go. The groups were not at all helpful when being there and most involved religion ( as to someone who is not religious) it was very annoying and also thought that "exercise is the best to deal with your mental health" rather than having a one to one therapist. In the adult units, there is a lot of fighting and violence and it is quite distressing. But besides that, the nurses there were very nice and kind yet some of the patients had treated them badly.

Our teenage son with special needs attends partial program. Staff, therapists and Doctor McGuire are all incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. We highly recommend this program at Fuller! They listen to our son and his concerns, communicate with outside providers, help with medications, set up additional community services and prepare a transitional discharge. Thank you!

The partial hospitalization here is run like a school of education for maintaining mental health stability after trauma. Each group is about an hour or so and skills for living are taught. Group therapy gives patients the ability to voice their life struggles in a safe environment. Group is run in a small house environment. Donโ€™t be surprised by the showers in the bathrooms. Although, showers on the premises are not encouraged. It is kind of funny though to walk into a full bathroom in between groups. The staff here is culturally competent and each clinician or nurse practitioner or doctor here is professional, astute, and very good at diagnosing as well as treating mental illness. They also make sure that before graduating their program you are set up with a medication provider and individual therapist to continue your healing journey.

My son was recently discharged from IHT services with Suzanne and Shauna.
They are absolutely amazing at what they do! My son was having difficulty at the end of the school year and we started working with them over the summer. They were always a phone call away, Answered any questions, found the answers and sent me any information I needed. Helped me formulate coping skills and supports for him both inside and outside of school. They have gone above and beyond. They even attended my son's 504 meeting this past year to advocate for my son with me.
The support from them was an absolute blessing.

I wholeheartedly recommend Fuller Hospital, in particular Mandy Doherty as an in-home therapist (IHT). Mandy had a hugely positive impact on our family as IHT. Her direct and caring nature is just what we needed. She greatly improved the mental health in the household by teaching us coping and communication skills, and holding us accountable to our goals. She was compassionate, supportive, and called it like it was - the exact combination we needed. Mandy is also so knowledgeable and served as our advocate in the schools, which was a tremendous support and directly improved our childโ€™s education.

The counselor is also so helpful for working 1:1 with the client, breaking the ice, earning trust (even if itโ€™s usually hard to earn) and giving them a chance to practice the skills they are learning. Our counselor was Jess and she was incredibly helpful in practicing skills and talking things out with our child.

Having a support system in the home, seeing things we saw and addressing them live, was critical to addressing and correcting problems. Additionally, the IHTs at Fuller are on call to speak any time, even outside appointment hours, which was incredibly helpful during challenging moments that inevitably popped up.

Mandy was the answer to our prayers and Iโ€™m so grateful for her support, as she turned things around 180*.

My experience here was a nightmare. I was sectioned against my will even though I never indicated self-harm. I asked to leave multiple times, and they forced me to stay there for 3 days. After the 3 days, they told me I had to comply with the Doc. I don't recall his name, but he was extremely cold and unfeeling. I abided by the wards rules and was calm, but the doctor claimed I was both "manic" and "bipolar" without even having a conversation with me. I told him I have an adverse reaction in my generic structure that makes Lithium give bad results. He said, "Take the Lithium or I won't let you leave." I complied only enough to be released. There was blood and other disgusting matter on the walls. I even called the police to rescue me, but they did not come or take me seriously. I was forced to stay there for 2 weeks against my will. They told me 3 days, then said I had to "sign" a 3 days. There's a notice on the wall that says if you have it in writing you want discharged, put it in writing and you should be good. Wrong, they violated the directions and laws on the sign and ignored my signed letter too. Being there for so long made me lose my tenancy at the home I was in, and I am now homeless thanks to the wonderful "care" here.

This hospital is a nightmare. The rooms weren't cleaned ever. Other patients seemed confused too. I followed the laws they had posted but they did not comply

I tried reaching out to the Human Resources woman, and she immediately would dismiss my concerns defensively, thus, not listening to what I had to say about the doctor forcing medicine on me against my family geology.

Lithium is dangerous in general, but for me it made my head swell and a ringing in my ears.

The structure of activities was the only regulated thing. They also did not work with those who were more patient or had more severe problems than me.

But hey, if you like being treated like a child and having your human rights violated... Then sure, this hospital is "great."

Lawsuit is coming. Hope that doc loves having a malpractice suit.

I also work for a company that evaluates poor business practices, so oops on that one. You had a spy. Congratulations on not taking my concerns seriously. Really looking forward to exposing this farce of a Hospital.

Shauna TM. Shauna was there to help and support my child recovering from a trauma. She has very good communication skills and was able to help my child meet the goals we discussed. She always responded to texts and followed up with a phone call. She was punctual and trustworthy and committed to finding ways to connect with my child.
