My experience has been mixed. The hygienists are excellent, but the office management needs improvement. Appointments often run behind schedule—I’ve waited up to 30 minutes to be seen. The orthodontic department seems disconnected; when I arrived for a scheduled appointment, they couldn’t find my name in the system, though they eventually accommodated me. Additionally, my records from the Southie Gentle Dental location weren’t transferred, which caused delays. Because they didn’t know how to proceed without my records, it took months to get my retainer replacement.

On top of that, I received multiple calls and messages reminding me about an upcoming cleaning appointment with fees for no shows, only to arrive and be told that the hygienist had to leave due to feeling unwell. I understand that things happen, but I should have been notified immediately to avoid wasting my time. With so many issues, it’s getting harder to justify coming back. Moving on to another place.

Today was our first visit at the Gentle Dental. And we are welcome warmly by everyone. Docto Jo was fantastic doctor and tool great care of myself and my husband. Very knowledgeable and easy to understand when he explain everything. Gentle Dental is a great place and we highly recommend it.

The dentist and the hygienist were amazing! They made me feel comfortable, holding my hand while I had anesthesia because I’m afraid of needles, and made my appointment fun! I highly recommend this dental practice, they truly care for their patients!

I had been trying to get my teeth taken care of for months and cumulatively years that it got so bad teeth were fractured and trying to coordinate insurance to where it was accepted and find dentist. I tend to be very strong so can endure but then it gets to a point where even I can't take it anymore. Most of the time, people don't know the whole story and it seems like it's out of the blue and unreasonable until the obvious evidence is revealed. But the compassion the Admin, Dentist and Techs showed without knowing the whole story was highly laudable and I hope others see this example of honorable behavior and assimilate it into their own manners. Most of the time, when we see someone having a difficult time, there is a lot more to the back story that is not known at the time. Thank you for your kindness despite not knowing my back story.

Excellent Experience!

I had a fantastic experience at my recent dentist appointment. The staff at the front desk were so welcoming and helpful, making check-in a breeze. The dentist was thorough, gentle, and made me feel completely at ease by explaining everything clearly. The office was clean and calming, which made the visit even better.

I was nervously looking for an emergency extraction and read good reviews so i decided to give gental dental a call… they made an appointment for me right away and also offered a plan to cut the costs. Ive had painful procedures from other places in the past…What made them different from other dentists is the “gentle” part… ive now had three extractions with them all of which were the best I’ve experienced with minimized discomfort. Doctor Joe has been helping me, prepared and cared for me before, during, and after. & the people at the desk are absolutely wonderful as well! I recommend dr joe and the team at gental dental!
