My husband and I brought our 4 year old to Charlton Harrington/Umass yesterday 2/11/2025 because UMass Southbridge butchered our daughters arm when they tried to take blood, so thought Charlton would be better for our Liam. We walked in to front desk and a woman further down at registration desk asked” what are you here for ?”
I said “to register for blood work and xray
 “ she asked “for who?”
I said “for my little one right here” she then rudley said “oh I’m not sure about blood work for him here
“I said oh ok how about the X-ray?” she said he probably won’t stay still so probaby not” and if we wanted to get on a wait list we could but can’t guarantee he can be seen. She doesn’t know my child who absolutely would sit still for an xray, and who is this woman to make these decisons? It looked like she didn’t want to do her job and we were a burden. We said never mind we will go to Southbridge Umass/Harrington”. We dreaded it. But it had to be done. That actually went better than expected due to our last experience with the lab there, but it may have saved us and our little one a worse experience at the Charlton location.
Today I was informed that Liam’s 3 yo cousin had just left there after having an xray and saw us leaving the building after being told they couldn’t see my 4 year old. So they pick and choose what children they will see?
We are so disappointed in the medical system and the lack of professionalism and experience we have been encountering with the now UMass Harrington. It’s actually scary.

Harrington is terrible. PCPs don't stay with the practice, and there is no follow through. The last MD billed for twice visits during a routine physical where I didn't even have a complete set of labs done. After fighting the bill with the office last year, the bills stopped coming but started back up again in May 2024. This was 14 months after the physical appointment. I spoke with billing again today and was informed that there is nothing that can be done as it's been over a year, and the MD has left the practice. I was then informed that the doctor billed twice as I mentioned having a headache. I never complained about having an active headache during a physical. I have a history of migraines with no treatment plan in place. (Doctors also seem to focus more on geriatric population and making money versus actually finding out what's wrong with a healthy person who eats right and exercises). Again, there was no treatment in place by the office for my headaches/migraines. If anything, the doctor asked questions about my history since she was NEW, and it was a PHYSICAL. It is insurance fraud to bill for a service you do not provide. I cannot believe providers get away with stuff like this. It is unethical.

After my mother had a very bad fall she was put in two different rehabs and UMass Hospital. Her experience with all of them was absolutely horrific. She ended up with a stage 4 wound for pressure. because nobody even checked her or bathed or rehab her. When I took her home the second day. I bathed her and found she had a four-stage pressure wound that nobody reported. Because they never bothered with her. But I got her to the wound clinic in Charlton. And being honest my opinion is they ALL was great with her.. She's 83 and no one cares about her except the wound clinic . We are still struggling to heal the wound cuz it was so bad.. but they have been helping in educating me to do the wound because we can't get no help in my mother's house . I ask pray for my mom. đŸ™đŸ™â€ and many thanks to Charlton wound clinic

I had gone to the same doctor for the past 35 years, until he retired. For the next 4 years I have been trying to find a doctor. Bouncing around and very unhappy. I found Dr. Belezos and he is amazing! He makes you feel comfortable and he cares! I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend him. You will not be sorry! He takes his time and is very very thorough!!!

EDIT: 2 years later I am adding an edit to my original feel and observations of the approach to family medicine here at this office of Harrington distinction. Dr. Shah has departed from the Harrington office to go into veteran-only care mission confirmed by a polite but seemingly overwhelmed receptionist named Marcella. So after 10/6/23 I was left with no primary care physician and a letter from the Director of Practice Operations that I had other providers there to choose from. In said letter: The 3 Dr. level providers all have terrible reviews online. The 3 Nurse Practitioners which I would've been fine with if they seemed to have any reviews at all positive, with online searches I did not find any. Working on leaving this Umass managed care system, and going to a smaller provider. Other U mass memorial health care facilities that accepted my insurance, I was being told by receptionists that I could be waiting close to half a year for a new adult patient appointment. Drat.

I just feel like this place is too large and uninvolved in their patients lives to care. Keeping my reviews at 3 star, because the Charlton North Main St building is really clean and well equipped. Lowered significantly because of problems loosing a pcp...never getting through to their behavioral health office for help with appointments there for self, and my overall feel of being cast aside.
---
Helpful nurses, and kind. Dr. Shah is new there and she is well mannered. Clean building, drink and snack machines well stocked.

My experience and time at the charlton wound clinic was the most waste of time and medical expence.I went for 7 months every week. Complain of hurting feet everything. Every week.I was scrape in my wounds. I cried before and afterwards week after week. They did nothing. I finally got feed up and my pcp got settle in her new job. Which I had to wait. I asked for a referal to another wound clinic. .it took.2.days. I saw my new wound clinic npc. the best move Idid. Charlton is a lousy place after all for wounds.. I'mI got action and care with expect.

I am a patient of John Hultgren, hes great. However, due to them running behind I was asked to reschedule my important appointment for another month out. Doesnt work for me, Im ashamed of the medical industry as a whole, for many reasons. All the healthcare sector has become is a profit center, noone actually cares about the people, just the $$$. I could go on and on, but I wont. Nothing against John, great doctor, just the place he works at is horrible.

Been going here for a couple of years. Secretaries have been pleasant, the drs I've seen have been great. I don't get prescribed any meds here, so no opinion on that.
I do think one of the medical assistants is very pretty. She reminds me of actress "Lauren Graham". ("Wolf Whistle")
