This is the third time my grandmother has been here and each time it gets a little worse. She was here during the Pandemic, and again for a knee replacement and infection. This time she has issues with her leg again.

Sadly, when we arrived there were no staff to be seen. A patient showed up to her room. Since we've been here my grandmother has not been allowed to do some of the activities because, "that's not why you're here and Medicaid won't pay." She kept asking to take the diapers off and they just kept putting them on her. It took her having skin breakdown issues and us being there for it to change. They are VERY under staffed. 1, maybe 2, aids for more than 40 patient. The doc spent less than 2 min in her room, but did remember her from a previous stay.

I saw pills dropped on the floor and still given to patients, sheets unchanged with stains, crumbs and trash in the heaters, etc. Pharmacy is in Phoenix, and took meds up to 2 days to arrive. The gentleman that did her PT wouldn't even speak to me during her 'session.' If you're a larger person they do not have the equipment to accommodate you. The wheelchair has screws falling out of it! We asked for a new one and were told it's fine, someone just needs to help her. The patients were coming to me to ask about a shower and to close lids and such. The food has also declined, I saw less fresh fruits and veggies and SO MANY CARBS, on a diabetic meal plan, and some of the meat I couldn't distinguish....

Overall, the staff are mostly lovely, but so very clearly overworked and understaffed. I do believe the staff is attempting to provide good care, but something is 'off' this time around. There are not many facilities here and she wants to stay close to home so my grandpa, but I feel I can't leave here alone here this time. I'm saddened by how this place has declined.

So my mother is a patient of this assisted living facility. I have not yet visited but I can say I spoke with the Program Director today and she was quite lovely and exceptionally helpful in trying to arrange a couple of different things. So far very pleased with the prompt phone call back when I left a message, the kind demeanor and what appears be a class operation. Looking forward to seeing it in person this coming weekend. Thanks so much Gloria.

Haven of Show Low is a good place for recovery and physical therapy.
The staff is well trained and helpful.
Some of the staff is outstanding, including Tiffanee (Spelling?) who is unfailingly kind and patient with the difficult and confused residents here.
Among the staff one person is often overlooked when it comes to praise...that is our activities director, Cherie. Even with a small budget she is extraordinary. She decorates for every holiday to make the center cheerful for the residents; she organizes crafts and games (one of the most popular is bingo twice a week with some pretty neat prizes that have been donated to the facility by relatives of previous residents and others.)
She even polishes fingernails every Monday afternoon for all and sundry.
And when she discovered how much fun the residents have singing karaoke she added that to her already busy schedule.
All in all Cherie is an amazing person with energy to spare and a genuine love of her job and the people around her.

I live on the Alf side. A new boss by the name of Gloria, I have to say she is wonderful she' there for all of us and I speak of everyone, I'm sure they all feel the same of her.
I would recommend haven Alf out to the public.
Thank you Gloria for all you do for us

Mom only moved in to the Haven ShowLow Assisted Living a couple of days ago, but we have gotten such a wonderful and warm welcome. Before we even got there, the intake coordinator, Brianna, went out of her way to make sure that I had what I needed in order to get mom there safely and securely. Once we arrived, it was late in the day and Carolyn, the night caregiver, calmed me down quickly when I couldn’t get Mom to come into the facility. She helped me get Mom inside and settled in. Her calm demeanor put us immediately at ease. She showed Mom her room and went through an intake checklist with us. She labeled Mom’s clothing so that nothing would get lost in the wash. I left very late and came back the next day to meet the manager, Gloria, who went over paperwork with me. The daytime caregiver, Lance, let me know how mom had done overnight as well as in the morning before I got there. He also shared his experience with dementia patients like my mom, and said there are several things I can do to help her transition more smoothly into her new home. They told me that they walked Mom over to arts and crafts and encouraged her creativity. She made a cute little bunny that will be displayed for Easter. We are never too old to be creative and have fun. Gloria shared an interaction she had with my mom that made me feel like Mom felt accepted and comfortable. I know this change is so much harder on Mom, but I have been a mess. I had to get emergency guardianship to move Mom to an assisted living/memory care and it’s been a rough road. I’m so grateful that she is in a place with people who obviously care. It’s a small facility, quiet and calm. I think in short order we will get to know all of the residents. On Sunday afternoon, they carve out a chunk just for family time so I’m looking forward to meeting other residents’ family members then. I’m really happy that we’ve chosen the Haven ShowLow and I hope that this works out for Mom for a very long time.

I'm posting this review about Tiffany a CNA that works here at Haven rehab and Asst. living facility. I can't say enough about her bedside manner. She makes you feel comfortable in the most uncomfortable situations. She never once has made me feel like I'm bothering when I need something

Today has started off well. Nurse and CNA were on top of patients and filling their needs. Great communication even with everyday glitches(toilet wanted to overflow). Its great when all can laugh and joke without feeling the pressure.

Never place your loved ones in this facility!!

Went to visit a friend there today. As we walked in, we noticed a raw smell of urine, lack of employees, no residents were up, and socializing in the lobby. Our friend hadn't been shaved in days, and we were asked to leave because he had physical therapy. We didn't feel welcome as guests and several employees we had contact with were rude and lacked smiles. Just seemed the patients there were there for Have Health to collect money from without actively involving patients in activities or socializing.

Saturday morning, our friend passed away in this nasty place last night. No one by his side, laying in a diaper simply because the nursing staff were too taxed to help him up to the bathroom.
We highly recommend not allowing the people you care for to be placed in this facility!!
