This place is absolute S*** to deal with. They offer you a big 15% discount off your balance owed. They do eventually remove them for your credit report as they state they will. However, they will tell you they sent you a letter stating they have been removed from your credit report, but each time you call to ask where your letter is they give you a different date that it was supposedly sent out. They even told me it was sent out on a Holiday. My letter was suppose to be sent out on November 21st (16 days after I paid off my account, this is how long they said it would take.) It is now December 12 and my letter is still not here. I needed these letters in order to get financing for a house. I am not sure how mail from Phoenix, AZ has not shown up to Oregon in the last 21 days. Anyway moral of the story don't settle unless you get in writing that they will be removing them from your credit report ahead of time so that you have the documentation. I ended up having to send a friend of mine who still lives in Arizona to pick up the letters in person.
They did remove them from my credit report though as they state, so 1 star it is.

Three attempts to call today: (1) after a few minutes was suddenly hung up on, (2) spoke to someone who sent me to a "Google Voicemail", (3) finally spoke to someone who looked up the account and told me it's still "active". The supposed debt was incorrect and was resolved by the referring company a month ago and I was told there is no debt. Yet HCI still sends mail to me asserting otherwise. What a terrible company. I'm calling southwestern eye center back to tell they need to fire this company for lack of credible service.

I never received a bill from the alleged "healthcare" provider, nor did medicare. This company works with clients that are as unscroupulous as they are. Tell them to sue you and see how fast they back out as they have no evidence that will stand up in court.

Addendum 08/23/2022:
Experian had a HCI Healthcare collection attempt recorded against me. Immediately after I initiated a dispute the claim was dropped. My FICO score increased by 97 points placing it in the "Excellent" range.
My attorney had advised that I sue HCI Healthcare for damages. As their filing had a derogatory effect on my credit rating that cost me thousands of dollars in interest.

Terrible company!!! I just discovered I owed money by checking my credit report...which I don't do often...no need to - I thought! I made one payment and was NEVER contacted again! This has NOTHING to d with COVID and everything to do with INCOMPETENCE ! I pitty you if you are ever forced to go to Banner and get involved with this collection company. I'd give negative stars if I could. I would have paid if I had known about it.

Scam! Reports to credit bureaus, but does not update account status as payments are made. Balance paid in full, yet 12mths later, still negative on credit report. They lie to bureaus during dispute process, even with documentation provided as proof of full payment. Legal action pending!

I had the same experience with Josh and a few others. They all hung up on me and wouldn't tell me who they were. I take care of an elderly friend and I screen her calls because there are so many vultures out there, She gave them permission to speak to them on her behalf. They were trying to collect on a bill that we never received. I even called the referring radiologist clinic to understand why they referred a bill that she never received. It all seems rather bogus for a $91.00 dollar bill. Id like to know what their cut of it is. If I don't get a call back from them I will report them to the FBI for fraud.

Called about a whopping $102 bill that I was given by mistake. I was charged this by Banner Thunderbird despite the fact that I had insurance coverage that paid for that. When calling this company a man by the name of "ED" answered and asked me for my social and date of birth which I provided. My intent was to be very honest and forthright so that this coule be resolved quickly. Once I explained the short story, Ed's response was, " Sir, I dont care about the details. If you dont intend to pay the $102.00 today then I don't care to speak to you any further. Have a Good Night!" He then hung up on me. I was a bit taken back but not stunned. My concern was that it was 10 am in the morning and this (Day drinking Drunk "ED") thought it was night time. I noticed the slur from the minute Ed opened his mouth, but didn't think anything of it, until the DRUNK'S behavior came spewing out over the line. I quickly called back, and spoke to Leanne, who apologized for her drunk co-worker Ed, and said she wasn't suprised by what I was telling her. She told me she would get me to a Supervisor, and sent me to a Voicemail of Cici's. If I could give zero stars I would ; An will be contacting the Better Business Bureau right away for this place that calls itself a business. This place should be shut down for the unethical business practices they do. It has nothing to do with the measly $102.00 dollars. I will take this as far as I can, trust me. It's no wonder they have 1.5 Rating on Google.

After paying a bill in full, I keep getting calls from HCI Healthcare Collections... so every time I have to rummage through a pile of paperwork to find it... the representatives I speak to become increasingly frustrated and upset, rather than patient and friendly. I've paid the bill, and have no problem in paying bills, and when I found the proof of payment they asked me to fax or mail the copy to them... first, I haven't seen a fax machine in 10-15 years (can you even buy one?) and second, I don't ever use the mail and haven't even purchased a stamp in probably 10-15 years. The fact that they wouldn't accept a pdf (my phone, and most, will create a pdf from a photo using a simple app) via email, instantly, to close out this case and save themselves from additional calls just threw me for a loop. So, if you're considering this company for your collections efforts for your company, make them accept emails and have them stop using fax machines and the US mail. At any rate, that's my review... hopefully they'll become more efficient. Update - I did have a separate bill that I found, so I called the physician directly and they said the bill already went to HCI... I tried to pay the physician directly, they said it already went to collections, but I was still able to pay the physician directly, which is good... I'd rather they have 100% of the money instead of 10-50% or whatever collections companies give back to the physicians. Sincerely, Ben Bethel.
